There are some great threads on our forums on retaining the OEM nav voice when upgrading the HU. Over the years, I have read several. 2 of the best ones are:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=18919
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/20754-nav-audio-with-aftermarket-hu.html
But here's my concern; neither them nor anyone else, to my knowledge, has routed the voice output to an aftermarket amp to make it play through front, rear, or all speakers.
Is that possible?
If an inline converter is used to bring the nav signal to the same impedence as the new stereo, why can't it simply be sent to the amp?
I will be upgrading my stereo system in the near future (yes, the HU will have a cell mute wire) and am the kind of person who doesn't turn a screw without having a complete plan laid out. I will be doing the install myself and am perfectly capable of that.
What say you?

this is possible of course...but i see a potential issue:
the amount of time it takes a normal amo to turn on, and then output, usually is slower than the time it takes for hte stock nav to send a signal...so by the time the amp comes on, its too late.
so what thatmeans is that you will need an amp that is constantly on, but for hte most part not receiving a sginal...this is certainly doable...and i suggest the cheapesat amp you can find lol...i have had the need to do this becuase most the stock nav voice on the 05 and earlier Zs and Gs gets decently loud...and at the end of the day, it does take a good hundred or more or so bucks to get the amp, and do the wiring and mounting...
but its not an overly difficult thing to do:
wire amp to power and gorund, strap it somehwere, say under the floor, run off the same remote wire the system is running off of. then if the amp has high level inputs, input the wire directly to the amp, or use hi-lo converter if not, and then strap a speaker somewhere and there you go

I believe you and I are planning to do almost the same thing. The only difference is I am going to run audio from a Garmin GVN52 navigation black box directly to my Eclipse amp and you want to do this with Nissan's OEM nav unit. We share the same problem and goal.
Just to be sure we are on the same page, here is what I want to do: I want to be able to listen to the radio or the CD from the H/U, but have the navigation voice mute the radio and listen to the voice guidance from the navigation unit, and then switch back to radio or CD player.
The Garvin GVN52 provides this feature (it has a mute wire), but my Clarion DXZ745MP does not support this. This Clarion model will not toggle between the radio/CD player and the AUX connection under control by a mute wire. So to accomplish this, I need to add something between the H/U and the amp. The “box” I add must allow connection for the H/U and audio from the Garmin GVN52. Of course, I don’t want any degradation in sound quality.
Paul350Z (who is just a great resource on this Forum) posted some help for me. Here is the thread and his advice.

I think this should work, although I have concerns about balancing the volume, and this is a 24v device requiring some modification. I am also looking at a couple of other ways to do this. The co$t is about the same for any of the solutions (around $200).
I’m planning to solve this; and if/when I get it working reliably, I’ll post the solution. If I can’t get it to work, I’ll post that as well. Give me a couple of weeks to work on this.
