Default Can't Get Amp To Power Up!! Help!!

I'm tryin to install the amp in my 06 in the space where the bose sub would've been. I built a litte rack, and connected everything just right...or so i thought. Also, i did make sure to connect 'remote' and have that 'sub-out ON' selected in my HU.

The amp won't power up. I don't have a voltmeter to test, but i did try just undoing a factory bolt back there, scrapping the paint off with a file and using that as my ground. Didn't work....

Can anyone tell me EXACTLY which bolt/hole i can use to get a good ground???

Or any suggestions??

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Where do you have your power supply? Also,,check the fuses in your amp. Sometimes during installation, with wires getting moved around and such, the fuses will pop. Keep us posted,,,

Power is coming straight from the battery, as show in that sweet tutorial on this site. Fuse from Battery is in tact, fuse on amp is also good.

Connected my ground wire exactly as show in this post...

connect your remote wire to a constant 12v and see if it turns on.

I would go to radio shack and pick up a $20 volt meter and make sure your remote turn on is supplying power. Also check the power from the battery. Use the same spot you have the amp grounded as your volt meter ground first. If you get a reading, you know the ground is good enough to at least turn the amp on. If nothing, move the volt meter ground around to different spots. If you eventually get a reading, then you know your ground is not good enough and you need to move it.

Here's one:

a easy way:

if you have battery and ground already hooke dup, and have verfiled that the power wire is getting power and the ground wire is grounded properly.

take a small wire, strip both ends, and connect it between the POWER and the REMOTE terminals. essentially jumping hte remote terminal, if the amp turns on, but normally does not, then you have an issue with your remote wire.

if it does NOT turn on, you either have

1. bad ground

2. bad power

3. bad amp

so you test them one after another, by using an extra wire to go from battery directly to each terminal...thats how you get to what is wrong by process of elimination
