Default Where to run 0ga wire through firewall

Hi all,

I will be running the 0ga wire for my audio upgrade this weekend (hopefully). I will be running two 0ga wires. I ordered firewall bushings to facilitate this.

Has anyone run 0ga wire through the firewall (or anywhere for that matter) *cough* bing *cough* who could give me an idea of where they put it?

Thanks.

I did, through to passenger side firewall then along the pass floor all the way to the glove box area. I ran my rca and front comp wires through the center to avoid any additional noise(whining) worked like a charm. I cant remember but i think it would be a bietch to run 2 of them though.

Thanks..... The 4ga for my current system is run that way so I'll be basically following the same path, but it goes through an existing rubber boot where the 0ga won't fit..... Time to drill holes.

I know one person who ran wires under a car through channels, but that was not a Z.

+1. Look at the picture I've attached. The boot is to the right of the screw driver behind the fuse box that is mounted on the fire. There's a large bundle of wires going into it. Make a small slit in the boot with a razor, take you cable and rub some soap on it, then feed it through the boot. It'll pop out over by the kick panel under the dash. The soap will make it easy to feed through the boot. It's a b!tch trying to dry feed it. Seal the boot up with silicone after you're done.

Thanks. There is a picture in the linked thread above that shows exactly what you're talking about. Getting giddy with excitement about adding all this "powa".

Already run. I was able to run both down the passenger side of the door. Two were a bit too big to fit under the carpet, but one of them was able to be pushed through the white plastic piece directly to the right of the seat and then they BOTH fit into the white plastic channel further back. So not only do they both fit now, but I can also fit the three runs of 14ga Tsunami speaker wire.

Not bad if I do say so myself.

Will your system suffer from hum with that setup? I was wondering because the speaker wires are so close to the power wires.

Or is it only a problem if you run RCA wires next to power wires??

I dont run any other wires next to the power wire i would run the speaker and rca's down the center or down the driver side to avoid any noise.

for bringing up old threads.

No noise in my system. The general rule is to keep signal wires (RCA's) away from power wires. But if you can separate them all, even better I guess.

Yes, folgrz is correct, I had 4 DLS amps (approx 1800 watts).

Sadly all gone, though....

You can run speaker wires with any other wires. High level information will not induce noise.
