Question What Do You Think? (Audio/Video/Nav System)

To be honest I was bored and messing around on Crutchfield. However I pieced together an audio/video/nav system that I think would sound pretty good and get the job done. Would like to hear what you think and how easy/hard the install would be. Thanks!!!

-Robert_K

The System:
- Pioneer AVIC-D3 DVD Navigation Receiver
- Eclipse XA5000 50W X 4 + 300W X 1 Car Amp
- Tsunami Lite Wave Capacitor 1.2-farad with Blue LCD Meter
- Pioneer GEX-P10XMT XM NavTraffic Satellite Radio
- Boston Acoustics S65 6-3/4" 2-way Speakers
- Boston Acoustics S65RC 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers Shallow Mount
- Boston Acoustics G210-44 DVC 10" 4-ohm DVC Component Subwoofer
- StreetWires PSK04BI 4 gauge Amp Wiring Kit Blue with Patch Cable
- StreetWires ZN5450 Zero Noise 5 16.4-ft. 4 Channel Patch Cable
- Pioneer CD-i200 Ipod Control Interface

FYI: Want to get the box that fits underneath the rear strut brace for the 10" sub.

I would take the capacitor and rear speakers off the list. Otherwise, it looks like a nice system.

Looks good. You need a cap when you run subs so it doesn't drain your battery as bad.

I want the cap since I have a Braille lightweight battery.

I would tend to disagree that a cap is NEEDED when anybody runs a sub. Cap's have their purpose in car audio, but for the system described above I do not believe he will need one......even with the Braille battery. He's not running gobs of power.

+1 on ditching the rear speakers, and change the amp to the Eclipse XA4000 instead of the 5 channel and that will save you some cash.....maybe upgrade the fronts to components instead of coaxials - component woofers will usually yield more midbass. I love Boston and Eclipse (I am running Eclipse headunit and amps). Sounds like the start of a sweet system.

If you want to keep the rears, stick with the coaxials you are planning on, but run them off the headunit.

Just finished my system off but I need to send my sub back.

Run some good components in the front and you'll be fine. Rear fill isn't necessary and I prefer the sound without it.

Basically the rule of thumb is 1000w = 1f cap

agree, but i would get a batcap instead you prolly wouldnt need either as that one amp isnt exactly a monster so it shouldnt be pulling to much. the rear speakers are just to much and if you fade them then whats the use? spend the money on fatmat/dynamat,etc. my 2 cents

Have you upgraded your alternator? I assume you have with the umteen mods that you have listed. If you have upgraded your alternator with a HO, I dont think you would need a cap even with the LW batt. Just ground your amps well and you should be fine. Everything else on that list looks nice. I would also loose the rear speakers.
