iPod Battery Life when Connected to HU
I'm on the verge of buying the Avic D3, but was wondering when connecting an iPod will it begin to charge it automatically. Reason I ask, is b/c I have an iPod Touch, and don't want the lithium ion battery's memory to get messed up.

you can always get a recharge kit. Its just a plug, connected to a constant 5volt. You'll be charging while playing. It works pretty good on my hu. Ive been using it for a little over a year now.

I was under the impression that one of the main attractions of Li-ion batteries is that they don't have memory degradation. Even so, I'd want my iPod to recharge when connected to the head unit too.

my ipod video charges whenever the head unit is on (Clarion). Only thing it wont do is charge a completely dead ipod, then I have to plug into a regular charger. So it's really easy to use, just connect it and it's always fully charged. It hasn't messed up the battery yet, been using it for around 10 months now. Ipod battery still seems to have the same capacity as before.

FYI, I have an iPhone (same as iPod touch) and when you connect it to the D3 it will say something along the lines of this device is not made to integrate with the iPod touch. Just click cancel and it'll work just fine.
