Tweeter Placement
Done!!!
Covered and installed them Saturday….not perfect, but the flaws are not visible. Now on to the next phase.
Im sure the experts do it different , but this worked for me
Quick break down of what I did.
Took to tweeter with me to Home Depot(For fitment) got some pcv plumbing.
Brought a circular saw drill bit (Diameter of the pcv vavle)
Drilled out the hole on the A-pillar plastic for the pcv. (you may have to drimel a little, but tight fit is good)
I put a little glue on pcv back inside to keep it stable while you put a little bondo around the pcv.
The bondo around the pcv serve as a fill in for the next step it should be a smooth transition from the A-pillar leading up to the pcv like a ramp. (don’t forget to sand, I used 150)
Get a T-Shirt that’s stretchable and stretch(Stretch it tight!) it over the pod area and staple it in the back.
Put 2-3 coats of resin over it
After resin is dry go over it with bondo , let dry, and sand it smooth.
Cover the A-pillar with whatever you’re going to cover it with vinyl or suede(use the 3M adhesive in the green can)

I had the same question. vh5150 will hopefully tell us what he meant when he said: “Are they on axis or aimed directly at each other?”
On-axis and off-axis refer to sound direction. Off-axis is sound coming from the side of the speaker, and on-axis is sound coming mainly from the front of the speaker (there is always sound leaking from the sdes).
I suspect that vh5150 means aiming the speaker at the listener (instead of across the front of the car, and directly at each other) when he refers to “on-axis.”

Usually the type of tweeter will dictate if it should be on or off axis. I have my focal tweets off axis. In the process of replacing them with Hertz, will more likely be on axis, need to verify
