i am trying to decide between 2 subs, elemental design 11ov.2 and the FI SSD10. the speaker will be ran at 4ohms at about 600watts. it will be in a type S zenclosure. the music i mostly listen to is hip hop. please all input is welcome

i would do an FI Q sealed in that zenclosure

 

what amp are you gonna use

i would not use that amp for sub

why do you want to use that amp?

 

that amp also has a huge foot print

well i have the amp already. why shouldnt i use it. what do you recommend

 

are you running stock speakers or aftermarket

 

i am still debating on the speakers for the front

 

i would use a mono amp to run that FI driver

i would use a 4 ch for mids and highs


that cadence is slightly over rated and with impeidance rise you will not see rated power

that FI Q shines with 800 to 1200 watts


i would run 1 each FI Q 10" DVC 2 ohm driver
i would wire it up at a 1 ohm load

i would use an RD Audio 1000.1 for your driver

650 watts x 1 @ 2 ohm
1100 watts x 1 @ 1 ohm

i would throw the RD on the FI and you will smile i can assure you


RD has a small foot print i got one at the house with bass **** $ 300

what are your feelings on possibly doing a custom ported enclosure with either

1 ,12"
or
1, 15"

 

i need to sell the cadence amp first then. i am happy with a 10 cause i have the box already.

 

i can take the cadence in on trade againt the RD

Yeah hes a hard core spl guy but we let him post anyway. LOL for real tho he prob has all the answers u want and then some. There are a few other gurus on here too if u need.
