Default Not getting reception

My stations are not coming in clearly. I searched the forum and people seem to say its the wiring harness. Mine seems to be done correct.

Also where the antenna goes into the hu its connected to a small black box. I have a long wire coming from it that was never hooked up, whats it for? and could this be the problem?

I tried going to the drive inn theater and had to be moved to the side of another car because I was the only car there that could not get the station. What else could be the problem. Also I think the previous owner had satellite radio hooked up at one point.

I have pretty bad reception after installing an HU. I've done the wiring harness 2-3 times to make sure it's right and it is. I'm thinking for some reason it's not powering up the aux. antennae amplifier that Z's have. Subscribing for some answers.

wow. I just re-installed my factory hu. Reception is clear as day, I get every station. It has to be the harness. Time to do the harness again I think

I solved the problem... Every station now comes in. Give it a try..

On the harness Unplug both the blue/white stripe wire and the solid blue wire

Plug the solid blue wire into the blue/white and the blue/white into the solid blue.
Just change the two wires and mix match solid blue with blue/white. Simple. Let me know how it works this might help a lot of people.

I ripped everything out and did it again. I followed 04silverz35's method and reception was awesome! But then my ipod didn't work... so I put all the wires together and soldered that ish together. It seems to get betting better reception now and ipod works. I hope it doesn't mess up my radio...

ok i tried this, with the extra wiring harness that i had but when i soldered all of the wires i only ended up with 1 solid blue wire and 1 blue and white wire. so im confused as to how to get my local radio stations to work, bc the ipod does become a bit too mononotous bc im too lazy to put new music on it any help would be great

You need to provide DC power to the RF amplifier under the antenna in the trunk.

I dunno... I'm thinking it's one of the blue/blue-white wires. I get all my stations pretty clear now so... I hope that **** doesn't fry!
