Question its a dumb Q, but i just want to be sure...?

is it possible to replace the rear factory bose speakers with aftermarkets without having to rewire my Pioneer HU???

I just want to be sure before taking stuff apart...thanks!

Oh hell yes. All you do is disconnect the thing and connect it to the other thing.

I did the same mod replacing my rear speakers with better souding speakers and couldnt really hear a difference. I would spend that money on something else but if thats what you want, enjoy.

dang, really, theres not much of a difference?...that blows!...what kind of speakers did u get??

I replaced my stock rears with some moderately priced Infinity coaxials, and the difference was huge (much better sound).

Of course spending more $$’s for better front components is a better choice (there's an argument to forget about replacing the rears, and instead just disconnecting these). But replacing the rears with better speakers isn’t foolish, especially if you are not installing a subW.

hmm,...thats interesting, ok i have another dumb Q...i popped out the speaker cover on the front door and i saw the speaker sitting low inside the door, is there any possible way to raise an aftermarket speaker and fit it with the speaker hole so i can put an aftermarket grille over it???

Not without going really small. The stock speaker hole is designed for a 6-6.5" speaker and as you've noticed the speaker grill's holes are not all the way drilled though. This doesn't really make much of a difference seeing as how most of that sound is being beamed at your legs anyway. IMHO this is the best reason for door pods.

i have zenclosures door pods.. they are amazing and look beautiful.. Wicked CAS also sells door pods for a higher price.. the last option is spacers

I got the door pods from zenclosures.. not sure if he still makes them.. check with them
