The error you get when you exit the navigation is normal I believe. When you click back on navi it'll load right back up. I uploaded both those files so if any of the links are down/corrupted let me know I could probably re-upload them.

Not trying to be negative but I doubt this will actually work well enough to suit your purpose. While it is a great idea, a $34 camera with a maximum suggested object range of 5 meters or roughly 16 feet, is going to do you absolutely no good mounted to the front of your car. Even traveling just 35 mph that is about 51 feet per second, the camera will be useless. Great idea but the camera systems designed for vehicle IR applications are much more capable and also much more expensive.

Knils, I agree. I tried it out on my DD and it was not worth ****. I scrapped the idea until the FLIR Auto grade stuff becomes cheaper. I love the Plenio for economy and ease of use, but I have stepped into a custom built Car PC now and have more important issues.

If anyone wants a like new Plenio already modded and running OCR8 shoot me a PM.

Thank you for the OP for this thread, i just got the Plenio VXA 2100 and i'm planning on doing this. Just a few questions...

1)The software hack on the first page, is this the updated version or is there a newer one that i can use?

2)I saw that it has a USB connection on it, now if i leave the SD card inside the system so it can read the software, can i connect an external Harddrive via usb and play my music/movies from that?

3)I'm going to get the cig. lighter female adapter that has two connections at the end...where do i connect this?(i know this is probably a stupid question but i have no clue).

Hope someone here that has already done this can help, thank you in advance.

1. Don't know if it's there was a version after this thread was made, but if it is, then you know whatever is in this thread isn't the latest version.

2. No, that USB is for the manufacturer only, so you can't use it at all.

3. I don't know what you're talking about but re-read this thread on how others have connected theirs; there are better ways to getting power to this unit than what you're suggesting.

Thanks for the reply, I've read that some are using a cigg. Lighter adapter with a built in fuse. This cable has a connection at the end, where do I connect this? What would you recommend? Ill try to post a picture of want I'm talking about tonight.

Thanks again

Just got mine off eBay. It is missing the SD card and doesn't seem to power up. Does not having the SD card have anything to do with that?

i had it working and went in to edit something and lost all nav functionality

I loved how it worked for me. Simple and easy to use. That is all I want. I was just updating maps and adding more screens to it and must've accidentally deleted or redone something.

I have no Idea what the hell I did, but I managed to change one letter in the .c31 file. Finally working after 2 days of going through codes. Jebus that sucked!

No I am back up and running, no I need to build a small car pc to run Haltech Manager and view my digital gauges.

Man I would really like to do this. Wish I knew where to find the screen I have looked all over. Does the magellan 1700 fit the same as the plenio? Or is anyone selling there plenio setup?

Magellan 1700 fits as good, or better than the Plenio. It also works better when wired to the ACC power in the car because it has an internal battery and will start up/shut down better using its own battery power.

Can anyone post a picture of the back of the GPS installed? I want to see what kind of harnesses you are using/fabricated to hold the screen flush to the cubby.

Thanks!
