Default rearview mirror..wont stay put w bass.. help.

OK, the search function didnt yeild me much result.. no flaming me damnit.

SO i just put an Alpine 1.1000 and 2 JL 10w7's in my car.. and the hit w drums etc is percussive as hell.. its not a question on LOUD, its a question of alot of impact.

And after literally 10 seconds at a medium voulme, my rearview moves completely and ends up pointing at the centerconsole.

Short of gluing tha damn thing in place at the joint pieces, has anyone else figured a good fix for this?

Its super lame.

I broke 2 rearview mirrors within a year when I used to listen to my music loud often. Be careful once it starts to sink down; that is a sign the stalk is about to snap.

sounds like real trouble is brewing... thanks for the warning man.. im ready! hahah.

I can take it.. Ive had a bird fly into my open window at freeway speeds and proceed to spaz and flap around and attempt to refly inside my car.. and then blew his #ss right back out the window after about 25 seconds of beng THE most odd passenger Ive ever had.. but a face full of rearview would suck too.. maybe Ill jsut buy a replacement stalk... guess ill check the parts catalog to see if its in pieces or the whole damn assembly.

( this thread is making me think theres no hope, and Im gonne be out there w JB weld soon. )

think CELL phones can cause accidents?! haha.

Default yea..

yea i didnt wanna say it but damn.. i expected a flame or two but thats some ol school racist isht up the fa sho.

So yea.. moving faaar away from all that..

I did see those threads in my search, but thank you anyways for posting them, i appreciate the time taken.

Rattle is not my issue... w one 10w7 the rattle was the problem.. and it was just the wire cover clip that did it..

.. w twice the power, a huge huge cap and 2 10w7s.. its a totally diff story.

What im talking about is the bounce you get in the mirror from bass hitting...well now it moves the mirror completely literally in seconds.

haha, it literally makes it just droop over like a dead flower.. and again, this is not when its necessarily loud. Haivng more power doesnt make you rareify more air..ie, get louder..... it makes the voice coils electromagnetic much more powerful, and allows your subs to start and stop itself on a DIME, making for amazing tightness and accuracy, especially in a high throw woofer application in a sealed box.. and i cant imagine a more punchy and accurate set up than mine. hee hee.

( Its all Imprint Alpine, Boston Pros, wicked cas kicks, 10f capacitors, etc. )

its the brute impact of the bass that is causing the issue.

Rear view windows get the worst of it becuase those bass region wavelengths are longer than the car by a long shot, so they equally pressurize the air in the car, but they still try to move foward along the roof and windshield, hence that why db drag racers place the mic there for max db.

So yeah, its not crappy boomy bass BS that you think, i hate that isht too

just wondering if theres a way to tightening it up that someone else has already done .. and form the posts so far, I assume there is no experience w this or a fix on the forum, and at least i asked you folks first as usual.

Werd.

Id leave it be, and some people dont realize when theyre being offsides.. no biggie. I guess i dont care cuz the term doesnt refer to me, but still.. no bueno, but not like hes blowing up the post or anything.
anyways, might as well close it up, im just gonna have to use some precision dabs of jb weld to keep it from having hinge points anymore.

Everett, WA: "The racial makeup of the city is 81.05% White, 3.35% African American, 1.56% Native American, 6.31% Asian, 0.36% Pacific Islander, 3.13% from other races and 4.25% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.15% of the population."

Typical and predictable social behavior from this region of the United States perhaps...
