Pioneer Avicx850BT prob with Rear View Cam
Guys,
Just bought an 08 350z Enthusiast (non Bose) and doing my first mod. I've done lots of research on the forum and appreciate all the knowledge I've gained. My first project is a Head unit replacement and i've chosen the Pioneer avic-x850bt with the Metra Dash kit and Axxess ASWC-1. After reading a few of the threads including
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...ew-camera.html
and
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-video...install-4.html
I have attempted to install the $20 ebay cam found that some of the other guys have put in.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250872048016...84.m1439.l2649
I have successfully tapped into the Reverse wire and ground and run the video cable up through the center console. I believe there is a problem with the HU recognizing the camera and here are a few things that I've done to try get it to work:
-Run a separate RCA cable to verify it isn't the cable - No Luck
-Unhook the video cable from the HU and connect it to a TV and it is in fact sending the signal and comes up on the TV every time.
-Run a separate 16 gauge wire from the HU's purple Rear Cam Signal wire back to the Reverse wire in the trunk (so both cam power and HU wire are connected to Reverse wire)
-Tried the "Battery" and "Ground" polarity settings in the HU menu for backup cam settings - no luck
-Tried to connect RCA to AV1 input instead of backup cam input with no luck on AV1
-Tried disconnecting the bypass that I had setup to make sure everything was "Stock"
So far I've only got the video to display on the HU 1 time so I know it is possible but even then it worked for 1 sec when I shifted to reverse and then put in neutral and shifted back and no luck the next time (and no changes). Does anyone have any other suggestions to try so I can put this thing back together and start driving it again.
Thanks
Ryan

Thanks Guys - it appears to now be working. I was testing it with the key in "Acc" mode instead of fully cranked. I believe it may have something to do with voltage output but not sure. Once I cranked it up and threw it in reverse, it worked. Thanks for the input.

Here's the link to the one I got:
CCD Camera
Looks like there are still more than 10 available. Take about 2+ weeks to ship from Hong Kong. Also - Here is a picture of how clear the image is. I was pretty impressed for $20.

Point is I'd like one that members here have used and proven to be semi-decent, and I can't find any like was used here previously.

Damn the seller I bought mine from isn't listing them anymore. Anyway, when I searched, I searched for reverse camera for the nissan Livina. Any of those $15-25 ones work. I went with one that was $24 since it was supposedly a sony lense lol
