Default 2007 Grand Touring (Bose) Speaker Replacement

My front and rear speakers sound muffled/broken, and was wondering if these would work in the front doors, as well as the other speakers?

Crutchfield has them listed as rear speakers only, but I understand the fronts are 6.5" as well?

Want to stay with 2ohm speakers, that is why I've selected the above, but open to alternatives too.

Appreciate all your help!

Play close attention to the depth on the front speakers. The window glass could get blocked if not careful. Those speakers should fit just looking at the photos, I think Crutchfield has them marked as not compatible with the front because they are Coaxial Speakers (tweeter built into the woofer), meaning they will not give you the same sound quality/volume due to poor tweeter placement. I highly recommend looking for a set of components for the front. You need 6.5" rounds for the woofer in the door and 3/4" tweeters for the upper sail panels behind the mirrors.
Cheers!

You will also need to get aftermarket spacers for the door speakers. The speakers you linked are 2 - 5/16" depth, I think the mounting adapters (spacers) are about 3/4" - 1" thick, so you should have the clearance you need, but don't take my word for it, this is something that should be verified 1st and I'm just guessing based on my recent experience installing an entire system (new speakers + head unit) in my Z.

Here's the speakers I went with (Focal ASE 165 S). The S designation is for "Slim" the woofer mounting depth is just under 2 inches. They are 4 ohm impedance, but have a high sensitivity rating, which is great for running directly off builtin class D amplifiers on head units (no external amplifier needed). I love them, great sound & build quality at an affordable price point.

If I were you, I would just rip and replace the entire Bose system, it's not that great. Otherwise, try to find a used set of Bose Woofers on Ebay or something. Bose systems are notorious for being very proprietary and picky about matching speakers.
Cheers!

Not to mention that there's still an impedance mismatch with 2ohm speakers. Bose uses 0.5 ohm impedance subwoofer and something like 1 ohm on the mains. What icer said above about ripping out the entire system is pretty much what most end up doing. The cheapest way to do that is to run a standard head unit feeding the Bose amp and speakers through a ROEM-NIS2 interface (available through pretty much any store that installs/sells aftermarket stereo systems).

And another vote for Focal products. Love all of mine. Had 'em in one 33 and two other cars. Great sound. Sound decent with a standard HU but even better with a bit of clean power (external amp).

Thanks Icer and MicVelo... I think that is what I'll probably end up doing, ripping out the system, and putting a proper amplifier and speakers throughout the car. Appreciate the input gents!
