Default Bench tested operation this morning......

Finished wiring the control board to the main body/relay harness and START/STOP button harness and I tested operation of everything on my bench this morning and everything seems to work according to design. The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is an appropriate low appearing at the clutch switch. This is the lynch pin of the whole design and will dictate STOP operation of the button. I've got to cut out holes in the box for the two Molex harness ports and then I'm going try and feed the main harness into place in the car. Once inside the car, there are a few points where the harness has to interface with the car's harness. I'll of course give updates and pics as things progress.

The only thing that did not work properly is that the Acc LED stayed on when you turned the key from Acc to ON so I simply disconnected that function because I didn't feel like going back to redesign it. Everything else functions flawlessly.

Geez, I dunno know; I've got to figure out how much I spent on all of the parts and then I might be willing to sell my prototype complete. I need to step back from this as it has sort of consumed me for many days and I'm literally, mentally exhausted. I'm glad it works though and I'm proud of the way it turned out if I do say so myself.

DIY? I could but I'd have to redo my schematics and get more organized. Still want to come by and check it out? Drop me an email: gbalsley@tx.rr.com
and we'll try and hook up.

Oh wow I would be very interested as well as many other Z owners in town. We have a Dyno day at HPP this Saturday. Maybe we can all hook up with you later?

By the way, I wanted to mention that I absolutely DID NOT cut into or otherwise modify my factory wiring harness in any way in case it did not work out. That's why I had to put "extenders" between the body harness leading up to the ignition switch and the ignition switch itself.

Let us know if you have that same issue.
Pushing the button while driving (provided the clutch is released) will do the same thing as turning the ignition key from ON to Acc or OFF; I don't know what the outcome of that would be but I'm not going out of my way to "stress" the car to find out.

Glad to see that all the hard work paid off. Wish I could get my hands on one.

you could potentially make "significant" money marketing this as a finished product. I would buy this as would many other Z owners as this thread shows. IMHO, you should consider it

well done.
