A side note... If you have long legs (I am 6'4"), and you attach your keys, the keys will dangle onto your legs as the fob sticks out farther than the key itself.
If this bothers you, reconsider the mod, or reconsider your key carrying arrangement.
I opted for the later.

Key
Hey guys,
A good cheap mod and looks nice. Just for all my fellow canadian people out there. Yes, Canadian Tire can do it, I got it done their. They should use plate A to cut the key.

I don't know if I'm a lone case or what, but my 4-button key-fob seems to be VERY flimsy. It's at a point where I don't need to even push the button down to have my key flip out. Has ANYONE else had this issue? If not, I'm going to consider buying the 3-button fob to avoid this mess.

Mine arrived today. Very good quality. It isn't quite the quality of OEM Audi/VW fobs but it is excellent for an aftermarket fob; exactly what I expected. Getting the chip out of the valet key is so easy and quick, it is freaky. I lightly lodged a knife blade under the edge of that little "drawer" and it quickly pulled out to reveal the chip.
I swapped the guts in today and will be getting the key cut tomorrow.
Ryan is a good guy. I ordered mine on Friday afternoon and he shipped it the same day.

After reading about all the people having a hard time getting someone to cut the key I (without thinking) decided I'd cut it myself with a dremel.
I thought after about an hour of small cuts and testing that it was a lost cause. Much to my surprise I finally got it! It works great.
I recommend wearing protective eye wear.

Thanks for this DIY!!!!!
I bought the flip key unit and new rubber buttons from a seller on ebay (seller: a-suntek). I paid $20/free shipping for the flip key and $5/free shipping for the new buttons (mine are all worn out).
Home Depot told me that it's against store policy to cut keys that they don't sell......whatever. I just went to the local locksmith and he charged me $3 to cut the key.
It took me all of 5 minutes to swap the internals from my remote and I used the transponder from my VALET KEY, this way my regular key is still intact. I only got 1 regular key, one remote, and the valet key when I bought the car.
I didn't use any glue on the transponder chip at all, just placed it into the nook and closed the case up. It doesn't rattle at all and I haven't had any non-starting issues after a week of daily use.

I have the old around one, this one seems to have the Z signature 3 squares on the back.
