Default How many points do you have left?

Since I'm fairly bored today I'll ask the question - how many points left? I've got 5 left. 4 will go in Feb and 2 more by May04. Until then I'm being really careful. Damn boring tho.

Touch wood, I have all my points left! That's including riding a very fast motorcycle as well.

Again hand on a timber product the last time I got booked was about 8 years ago going to the Grand Prix at the Island.

Yeah, it's a slow day here today as well.

As always

Of course in Victoria they wont be happy until all Vic drivers are either walking or have a man with a red flag walking in front of the car!!

I read the other day that speeding fine revenue was up around the 3 times mark from a few years previous.

Got 3 fines over 2 months. Problem is they were from a fixed camera. Didn't recieve the first fine in the post 'till after I had been done the other 2 times 8 WEEKS LATER. How the hell can this be a deterent if you don't even know you're gettin' fined???!!!

My last fine was doin' 75 in a 70. Have friends that been done for 63 in a 60. Friggin hell - if you fart you get enough extra boost to put you over!

not happy LK

The cameras have proved to be inaccurate in Vic - get hold of a good lawyer and challenge them!!

Does anyone know of a case where someone has challenged (camera) fines and won??? If so, what was their argument?

There was one just last week where the guy argued he had to speed in order to avoid an accident. He won. Of course he wasn't doing some stupid speed anyway. 65 in a 60 IIRC.

You guys have a 3kph leeway now don't you? That's complete BS. Are you supposed to drive around with your eyes fixed on the speedo or the road? And they say it's not revenue raising.

I thought fixed cameras in VIC had been "turned off" until they had the accuracy problems sorted out. I was reading about it in the SMH last Friday and that was the impression I got. They gave examples of a truck clocked at 175 up hill and a Datto 120Y at 153 which it was simply incapable of.

I'd challenge 75 in a 70 zone...until the government forces motor companies to provide 100% accurate speedos how can we be expected to guess that our real speed is?

Regardless it would be arguable that you did 70 for 98% of the time but couldn't be looking at the guage the whole time and thus went a tad over.

you'd win in court if you have no record of speeding.
