Continuing to improve at the track
Just completed at track day at Infenion this past Friday. Overcast day and cool. It sure makes a difference from the hot days of summer. I have run Thunderhill and Buttonwillow and find Infenion must more technical and fun. It requires more throtle control in a number of turns.
As I have improved my car handeling I find the tire wear to be very uneven on the fronts. I have now ordered the front adjustable control arms and torsion set up from EVO.
For those who have made this mod. What cambers are you running and is it difficult to reset the front from track to street or do you leave it at some setting?
Buy the way on the Street course that uses 7A I ran a 2:07. The most important thing is the continued improvement with each track day and just a great time out.
Found a hitch installer to allow a trailer for next year.

Infineon (Sears Point) is just a wonderful track to run, and definitely a lot different than Buttonwillow. But with 11 turns at Sears and roughly 21 at Buttonwillow, depending on what configuration you run, they are hard to compare. Sears has elevation changes and really Buttonwillow only has the Cotton Corners and the Lost Hill. Sears has walls and tire barriers all over the place, especially at 7 and 11, and turn 10 is a definite candidate for rolling up into a ball. Sears is just fab, but Buttonwillow really works your skills hard, and if run it without the BusStop and clockwise.....it is fast too. Approaching the Riverside sweeper at 125mph+ is a clencher.
The Perf Nissan adjustable arms just use shims that come in and out easily.
What is the camber you were running last time that gave the uneven wear? Depending on what you were doing and what it looks like, you have to judge from there and we don't know what is going on so it is hard to tell you what to consider. I am running about 4.5 degrees negative. It seems like it grabs more up front and it is easier to loosen the rear, assuming no other changes to the set up.

Check the site at www.speedventures.net for their schedule, they do events up and down California. Friday the 17th they are doing California Speedway in Fontana, the day before the JGTC, so it will be the infield course WITH the ROVAL....taking the 11 degree banked front strait with its "letter D" bulge, and then the 14 degree banked turns 1 and 2. Hugely fast and fun, you can get your car into six gear and flat out, up to 150mph if you take the entry to the straight smoothly and at 90mph+ as you come out of the infield section. (This is not a go-kart track in the infield by the way, it is more than 360 acres so the layout is plenty big, and quick.) Laguna Seca will be in Jan/Feb. They do a good job and put on an affordable event.

Back to Chekered flag, they go to a variety of sites, Feb 9 is Lagune Seca, then Vagas for a day, later Buttonwillow and three days at Thunderhill. They run two run groups and have a time trial and a race team that has a race every track day. You must test to get into the faster run group and race team. Nice people and members must be voted in. Guests are always welcome. PM me if you are interested.

nasa, speedventures, trackmasters, clubz all come to mind. Between all of these clubs, I manage to get to the track at leaset once or twice a month.
