They're 60 deg taper just like the stock 350Z lug nuts. They mean these will not work with flat seat type OEM wheels that come on many other cars like 370Z and most Toyota's, etc..

I wonder if it's a 370Z warning? The OEM wheels have a very strange lug type. Regular lug nuts get loose, won't torque down or worse.

I repeated this order exactly. Shop says the studs are "the wrong ones". I do not think they are. Any takers on what the problem is (or can anyone confirm they are - indeed - the correct studs?). ARP-100-7716

Those three links are 2 people that state ARP 100-7716 will work and the last one is another shop selling them specifically for the 350Z/G35. I have not installed mine yet so I can not confirm. It will be a while before I get around to installing mine but found them cheap so went ahead and ordered them.

Shop says the splines on the head of the stud don't match the spline pattern inside the hole for them. Just yank them through, or should they engage smoothly?

I have not installed the studs on my 350Z yet, but every other car I have ever installed studs on there are no splines in the hole. The studs are press fit into a smooth hole. There are usually marks and maybe indentions left from the stock studs but the new ones just press in. There should be no aligning of spline patterns. You will notice the specifications for the ARP studs mention knurl diameter, which is for the hole diamter but there is no mention in the specifications on spline count or pitch.

Just press them thru , your hub is smooth , any marks were left from the old ones pressed in.
