That sounds heavy. Is that the coupe or the vert?

I think bert can chip in on this one... I think one weighed in ~3100. For reference, my Evo IX weighed in at 3190 the same day on the same scale.

Tony (thinks all cars weigh less than manufacturer's say)

Yeah, I remember Alberto saying they weighed like 5-6 of them and all of them were way less than 3600lbs. I still don't understand the big discrepancy though between actual weight and what Nissan claims for '06s.

First of all, no claimed Z coupe curb weight is even close to those numbers. The heaviest is the '06 manual GT at 3404lbs. My '04 base model weighs around 3050 with some simple things done.

Second of all, nissans numbers are curb weight.

Nissan factors in all fluids including a full tank of gas. Our huge 20 gal tank that adds ~120lbs to the figure alone. People seem to forget when they are getting close to empty the car is about 100 lbs lighter. They also forget that the Z has a bigger tank than most other cars, which makes the car look heavier on paper.

Not to mention, not many people take a bone stock car straight from the factory, make sure all fluids are topped off, and then go have the car weighed to compare it against nissans numbers. That just doesn't happen very often.

My car (03 Touring) weighed 3180 lbs at MIR with a 1/4 tank of gas.

Mike's car (an 06 Touring) weighed 3170 lbs at MIR on the same day with a 1/4 tank of gas and his spare and jack removed.

I believe that the 06's do weigh more than the prevous models, due to some "improvements".

I weighted my 03 (touring equivalent) and it weighted 3090lbs with a little less than 1/4 tank of gas. (Kintix cats, injen SES, lightweight battery, UR pulley, 17" fn01r-c, and a few other things)

that's pretty light

My 2003 Track model weighed 3420 at VIR with FULL tank of gas and me in it (170 lbs).

Spare tire, floor mats, etc removed.

FYI, one gallon of gas weighs 8.33 lbs, so a full tank is 166.6 lbs.

Woops, misread the Google link! It says 6-6.5 lbs per gallon.

3140 here with spare tire and jack removed and 50 lbs of weight savings (seats) and more than 1/4 tank of gas.

I weighed my '05 Track model at a drag strip while doing some runs. IIRC, I had about 1/4 tank of gas, no spare/jack/tools but I had one of my Sparco's in and the other OEM seat was with airbags (curtain airbags too). It weighed in at 3223 lbs.
