Thanks man, yes it is a tight course as are most around here.

There are a couple, like the Mosport GP track which is supposed to be North Americas fastest track, but I haven't been there yet.

And now a little faster yet, eclipsing the T2 lap record of 1:43.3:

Lap 3 (starting at 6:00) was a 1:42.3, and lap 5 (starting about 9:31, which had a touch of traffic heading into T11) was a 1:43.00. Good times! Oh yeah, and it's for sale (so that I can go W2W next year. . . finally!)

Here's a description of the 1970 "DemoZ" that I'm playing with, as well as some laps from his car two years ago:

Finding a few more ticks here and there. The Z is completely changed, down ~10rwhp, new suspension, no camber goodies, changed aero, different tires, full cage. . . still can't muster that 1:39.xx

It may take a fresh set of tires and some more suspension tweaking to make that happen. The car understeers a lot with this set-up and lack of front camber, and I'm missing 2-3mph in many parts of the track. We will see over time as things continue to get dialed in.

Track: Road Atlanta
Date: 12/02/2012
Best Lap time: 1:46:114
Car: 2009 370Z + Sport
Tires: Hoosier R6 295/35R19 Stock 370Z wheels.
Brakes: XP12 front XP10 rear
Other Modifications: Fast Intentions cat back exhaust, Stillen G3 intake, Hotchkis sway bars (original version), JRZ RS1 coilovers
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): 70 and sunny. Couldn't see the braking zone in the esses at all... just sort-of had to have faith that it was still there.

Wish I had more sessions like that one. I had multiple laps with little to no traffic so i was able to knock huge amounts of time off my best from Saturday which was a 1:53.622. Right after this lap I tried to carry too much speed through T7 and dropped my left wheels which caused a nice little 180. Wish my gopro hadn't run out of battery so I could see how I screwed that one up aside from dropping the wheel.

Hopefully some other 370 Guys will post here. Only one other had posted a time on the 370z forum.

Track: Road Atlanta NASA TTB
Date: 12/02/2012
Best Lap time: 1:38.6
Car: 2004 350Z Base
Tires: Hoosier A6 255/35/18
Brakes: XP12's all around, single piston OEM
Other Modifications: MD plenum spacer, ART pipes, MD shockwave single, stock shocks, lowering springs, APR wing, stock sways, homemade front splitter and air dam
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): 70 and sunny.

First time at the track. So much fun and so fast compared to Mid Ohio which is my home track. Average speed at MO is about 82 compared to Road Atlanta's 93 for me. The data starts on lap 2. That is my fastest one.

4th was too low to go going into T1. I wanted to downshift to 4th braking before T3, but I missed the shift so many times BC there is so much flex on the trans mount I missed the gate. It was frustrating. I will put a stiffer one in there and be set next time. Going through that section in 5th def slowed me down.

That sure is a fast course. I can see the HR really doing well here given the tq/hp curve and high rev limit. Great lap, curious about downshift logistics there as well. Probably could shave some time there, at least from the comfy view of my desk chair.

EDIT: I saw your response

You can hear Brian Kleeman drop to 4th through 1 and then to 3rd through 3 on his 1:35 lap. Just for reference.

WOOT!!! DUDE you are Flying thru T1...no matter what gear you are in... 5th, reverse, 2nd..whatever DUDE that is screaming.

Seriously...most people (like me) over-slow entering T1, staying up a gear help carry more speed thru one of the fastest/longest corners on the track. And I actually don't know if staying in 5th all the way thru 1-2-3-esses-5 hurts you in a Torque monster DE car...staying in the gas and smoothness is rewarded. Bad/rough driving will assure you a ride back to the paddock in a Roll-back.

Noted for sure. I think the car would pull better climbing the hill, but I felt like the RPM was too high. Was he in an HR?

Thanks for the kind words John. I appreciate it. 1:36's next time

Going back to using my dyno re-class and getting 5 points back. Going to run 285 A6's all around!
