Why don't you go and take him down a notch?

With two more jackets than everyone else on this thread put together, he's earned the right to be cocky.

You won't regret the experience. My 1st National was last year. I wish I had known about autocrossing 25 years ago. I'd be going to my 25th this year.

+1 It ain't braggin' if you can back it up -- and Isley has shown time and time again that he has what it takes. He's my pick to win BS - even though I feel Piccione and Braun will be close...maybe close enough to walk away with a win in the end.

As a former 300ZX TT owner, I would also love to see a Z on top!

Anyways, i have competed in 1 national tour event up in Milwuakee and was a solid second behind Chris Harvey and co-driver in the tire rack rx8, so i think i need to improve on my driving before i tackle nationals.

But on the other hand, i would love nothing more than to see a Z win BS, and the more Zs out there, the more chance there is!! So i think i am going to go for the hell of it, and get some experience!
ULLLOSE is cocky, but he has a reason to be -- he's the national champion two years running. In person, he's a great guy, and is as concerned as the rest of us about the low turnout in RX-8 Stock, err, B Stock.

Lee may be looking for a co-driver, so that may be an option as well. I'm leaving my options, well, "open," since I'm not certain that a co-driver is as much of a competitive advantage as it once was, but it certainly is a cost advantage (to both drivers)!

Cocky... Come on it is confident. I posted this on another forum:

Well I tired to get myself a qualified co-driver. I talked with Pobst and he wanted to do it. Unfortunately after checking his schedule Natls was smack dab between two very big races for him. It is way more important that he concentrates on the big prize. He does want to go to Natls again, so don't be surprised if he makes it one of these years.

I am bummed, that would have been a great experience and a very cool story.

So guess I will be on my own again. Better that way, as clearly I don't play well with others.

p.s. yes the low numbers do bother me. We are just a few shy of last year, so we are safe as far as class size, but I sure would like to see BS hit 40. Guess we need the SAC/SEB to look at what other cars could help the cause without upsetting SpecRX-8.

Why not add the Shelby GT?! *runs & hides*

On a more serious note, maybe the first gen non-S Porsche boxster (201hp).

They won't split up the 986 Boxsters (it's been brought up before), and the later Boxsters are way too fast for B Stock.

Lee already beats Sammy on raw time in my 03 Track so getting the Z in FS is not going to happen either.

From working in the timing trailer at today's WDCR event, it appears that Piccione has found a co-driver in BS...

No excuses for Sammy, but Jason was in rare form - had the course nailed on his 1st run!

I wish they had a separate category for folks on street tires .... it's so hard to compare otherwise.

Solo is the "secret" part of the Secret Car Club of America, SCCA.

Probably because they can't charge spectators.

As per the solo rules solo is not a spectator event and are not advertised as such, that requires a change to the insurance. I know they talked about doing this for natls but I doubt HPT would get anyone to buy a ticket. Last year there was also a race on the dirt short track at HPT, a number of solo people went to watch and said they had a great time.

38 entries - 6 Z drivers , 1 BMW, 2 Porsche, the rest are RX-8s.

I still believe this will be Carter's year. He has settled into the RX-8 and has gotten quicker at every successive event. With Jim setting up the car, that's a tough team. I wish he'd had time to run this Sunday in Nashville. We do a test & tune on the 15th and they are great about helping less experienced drivers. Maybe we'll find a tenth.

Just attending the Nationals is a lot of fun. Meeting good drivers is interesting and watching other classes is priceless. Even if you don't plan on participating the experience is great.
