I've got the Curt hitch on my G35 coupe. Had to drill through the bumper brace to munt it, and a hole directly nehind the license plate, as well.
Pretty easy, all in all. Mostly hidden when the reciver ball is not on, either.

What year is your 350Z using the hitches. I've got a 2003 and all of the hitches I've seen never say they work with the 2003 but I didn't know there was any significant differences? Anyone have a 2003 350Z that uses one of these hitches? If so which one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You have to drill holes in the bumper bracing regardless of what year you have. I am unsure ir trimming is needed on the earlier models. Some minimal is needed on the 06+.
Thanks for the comments on the hitch compatibility. Any confirmed use of the CURT Manufacturing Hitch on a 2003 350Z. All the sites I've checked say something like the note below which excludes the 2003 model. If I search for a hitch for the 2003 350Z they all say there isn't one available. Thanks.

I think you guys should check out my other thread regarding this issue...
for the 03 i would just check what bumper support you do have and then install the right one...

Well these places have their numbers off a little... Well I guess the whole key here is remove the bumper and actually confirm which "Bumper Support" braket that you have..
It looks like the newer ones are flat and that the earlier models have an angled step on the rear side of the bracket...

Update: Thnx to Jarred@Z1 head's-up to this area of weakness, I double checked my bumper mounts...looks like they have been flexing a bunch due to the trailer bounching up/down under load. So I am gonna weld up all the seams and add bracing where ever I can to the bumper to frame mounts.
So if you are pulling any kind of trailer weight, you might want to do this mod also.

Yep, I carry a lot of crap
and still want to carry more....
....so I will weld all the seams in the bumper brackets and then try it again. This weakness was apparent after strengthening the bumper itself....so by adding strength there, it just moved the problem to the next weak link,,the brackets...that is the way it is whenever you mod....you often just move the one problems to another area of the car....
BTW: I hope to buy a real car trailer later this year, so this deal is kinda just a short term fix....however it has served me well for the last 3 years of tracking.
You're welcome. This is what i figured was going to happen. With the size and weight of the trailer you're towing i knew it would have been a problem. If it was a smaller trailer it may not be such a problem. I'll just be pulling 4 tires and a small tool bag not as much stuff so im not as worried about it.

Is a "self power" wiring harness a universal trailer item? I'm interested in installing the Curt hitch, but I have no idea where to purchase the wiring, much less how to install it. Any guidance would be great!
