Default 2009 Solo Nationals on Concrete!

Maybe we can get all of our power to the ground now!

Plus, we're now in a city and a site that actually wants us there, and hopefully won't treat us like we're not really wanted.

I saw that. There's a lot of hope for Lincoln.

Hey, Topeka is a great city. They wanted to keep the Solo Championships. HPT was the problem. Half measures for site size, cheap sand filler asphalt, PITA rules and mud paddocks.

The girls at BD will really miss that week.

Don't forget the "extra charges" from HPT for paddock passes, concessions, equipment, and facilities.

Topeka invested a lot of money in HPT, with the expectation that HPT would host a lot of events for a long period of time. However, from day one at HPT, pretty much everyone was treated poorly -- and promised improvements were never started. (I heard a lot of complaints from the road racing guys about how poorly they were treated as well)

Granted, I think that "accepting" Solo was a condition for holding the runoffs, but I know that I certainly didn't feel welcome at HPT -- I felt, at best, "tolerated."

I realize that HPT is a business, but you don't "diss" a portion of your customer base because they don't buy your most expensive product.

From what I understand, both of the choices that were on the table were going to be pretty big supporters of Solo and actually wanted us there. Lincoln less so than Blythesville however. Rumor was that Blythesville's mayor and the entire town was begging to bring nationals there. Unfettered access to the site and surrounding areas, freeing up a large hangar for town hall type activities, local radio station support. Too bad there isn't as much to do in the town itself.

Lincoln is a college town and when you compare Solo Nats to a Big 10 College Football game, well, we pale in comparison. Now on the flip side, the Lincoln site is H-U-U-U-G-E! If they give us the entire area we are looking at quite a lot of freedom for course/pit/paddock design.

Anyway, see you all there in 09! (Hopefully still in B_Stock)

Hey Jason, I know that Lincoln is up North but Nebraska is in the Big 12.
