its pretty tough stuff but I can see why clubs are switching over to it. It does come with a adhesive backing but I still tie wrapped all of the pieces at each end. Its fairly easy to cut as well. Simply score it with a knife and it breaks off with ease. I just hate the cost of it. But of course, how do you put a price on safety?
We have switched over to only accept high density padding for our TT cars. The loose foam has been shown to have less impact resistance and we really want to make everyone as safe as possible
Here are a few pics from my car. I used a number of zip ties as I'll be constantly going over that bar getting in and out.
The adhesive backing was sufficient in other areas though.
One tip, melt the cut ends of the zip tie to keep the sharp ends from cutting you or tearing your driver's suit.
Great idea. I positioned the zip ties so they'd be at the bottom of the bar but I'll check to make sure I don't have any exposed ends that I could get snagged on.
