Honestly tho, i wouldn't be surprised if they are sold out of certain sizes by now. by mid day yesterday they called me back and said they had to fill back orders out of a different warehouse cuz the one closest to me couldn't filll em. supplies are wearing thin.

Wow you were quoted $99 over the phone? What was the original closeout price online. Anyone else get this price?
Great find!
Ok, just called them. 265/35/18 they expect in their warehouse around 3-6-2009. They don't have that many coming in but will fill what orders they have and charge your CC when it ships. I was quoted 99.00 per tire. No idea on shipping as I wanted to see if they had bigger sizes available in 18's and they don't.

yeah I did call. Twice actually, hoping a different operator would maybe have a better way to look it up. But no luck
I thought about the 245/40's for a bit, but I don't see saving $400 in making up for the loss of 20 mm of tread.
I also just realized that the RE11's come in 265/40 which is closer to stock size. Just a lot more $$. Maybe I"ll just get those instead.

I'll have to call tomorrow. 265/35/18s for $99 a tire is crazy price. I was curious about that pricing as the 245/40/18s are $128 each.
I wish I saw this earlier. I've been pondering tires and searching for awhile then just got tired of it.
Oh and RE11s.....finally.

Since, your in the motorsports industry, go to Commission Junction and sign up as an affiliate with Tire Rack.
Then send your customers to the link/banner ad to purchase tires and you get 5-10% commission for the sale. Including their sale/closeout tires and any of their products they sell.
I know a few shops that sell wheels and order all their tires through Tire Rack, little bit of a commission and they keep their customers happy.

I've been running my previous G and now my Z at the track with 245 wide tires. On the G I had 245/45/17 RE050A and on the Z I have 245/45/18 Sumitomo HTRZ 3. I have a total of 6 track days at various CA tracks between those two cars. Now that I've turned my Z into more of my weekend/track car, I'm going with a more track oriented tire/wheel setup. I just picked up a pretty popular combo on here with 17x9 +27 MB Competitions with the newer 275/40/17 Nitto NT05 tires. Was just wondering what I should expect come next track day with this new setup? Will I have to relearn how to drive the car again? Is it a night and day difference? I know I'm going to have more grip just in the shear fact from the stickier compound and 30mm more tire. Any practical advice would be most appreciated.

You'll notice a bit more stick, but not as much as you might think. The tire models themselves make a huge difference, but I don't think you'll need to relearn anything. Try to get one heat cycle on the new tires and put them up for at least a night.

You will find that turning the car is a bit more tougher than before. And every time you turn in too early, you will pay for it on the burms. The 275's are more tire and you end up binding the car just a hair more, plus you are going to be a hair slower. With a wider tire, you are carrying a bit more weight and scrubbing off more speed when you turn. They do take some getting used to.
