I had been procrastinating doing this forever. It was more of a commitment thing, I had to cut my bumper. The car is in a phase now where no ****s are given now. Do what I gotta do.
Its a G35 with KurumaZ bumper obviously but might still give people ideas.
Made a template for my 2.5" NACA ducts from Pegasus Auto Racing (love that place).
Get your helper to lift the car.
Taped and traced to bumper.
My dremel made short work of the poly. No going back...
Test fitting; needed some massaging but it worked.
Wanted to use rivets but they werent long enough to get through the duct and bumper. Rocked self taps; looks gnarly in person + removal would be easier.
Had to go this route because of charge piping and oil cooler in the way.
Cut up liner and rigged it up to the knuckle using a t-bolt clamp and safety wire.
Driver side.
Nice face.

Bumping this thread because I have a question
I know people were saying this kit is "bad" http://www.nissanraceshop.com/produc...50z-99996z3344
but is it completely use less without the backing plate or is there a way to fit it without one? I was looking into custom and 11' 2.5" hose with 2 NACA ducts is like $115 + shipping and this kit from nissanraceshop is $119 shipped

OK in a bit of a scuffle..
bought the NISMO GT2 brake ducts from Nissan race shop (http://www.nissanraceshop.com/produc...ucts_id=332328)
I know this kit is more of DIY style kit and I was 100% ok with that.
I went to install them yesterday and realized I don't have dust shields up front, originally I was going to cut the duct shield and stick the end of the duct in there but now im a little stump where I should place the duct?
any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Havent been around much, parked the car for a while, sorry for the late reply.
I cut the bumper because on the bottom left is my oil cooler, and on the right is turbo charge piping. Running out of room to stuff things behind the bumper lol
Its literally just safety wired and pointing in the general direction of the center or the rotor. Nothing special, an actual spindle duct would be the proper method but I didnt want to spend another 300+ for them.

I understand that Nissan Motosports USA will be introducing a new Spec Z brake duct system...it will have a thru-the-front bumper air intake...so you will need to cut a hole. The part number should be released soon, with the the 2013 Spec Z rules.
When I see the info I will post it here...please don't go calling all the vender or Nissan because they will not know about this...YET!!!!
