Nissan FINALLY has a 350Z brake duct!
Hines Group Motorsports is running the Nismo nose and have all year. We got the brackets and carbon fiber rotor ducts but we found some old ducts that we bought when we were racing Camaros and did some work with a heat gun and warped them to fit on the far right and far left side of the Nismo front openings. We used wire ties to attached it to the nose. We also used some of that heavy duty racing ducting that cost so much and Rob makes a point not to turn the steering wheel all the way right or left to keep from wearing a hole in the duct. We also wrapped some aluminum duct tape where the tire would make contact.
Next time we take the nose off I will get Rob to take some pictures.

Would there be any interest in a duct that takes air from the front of a NISMO nose, the outermost openings in the front bumper (see http://stores.myracecarparts.com/-st...per/Detail.bok) and changes shape to a 2 1/2" diameter round so you can attach a hose to it? Something that would just mount up behind the bumper and direct air?

Anyways I just ordered a set of the nissan carbon ducts from there. I just had an HPDE event at Pocono raceway running the double infield this weekend and def. cooked my brakes a bit too hard (Brake pedal was slowly moving lower and lower during my 2nd session although I never lost brakes, my front Brembos turned a slight darker gold color, and my rotors look like they have spots on them) Partially due to my poor brake control (my 1st HPDE...yay). I'll def. post pics once they go in. Hopefully this will work well at NJMP in October
Any suggestions on what else I can do to improve my braking performance other than these ducts? I'm using freshly flushed DOT4 fluid and Hawk HP plus pads btw.

Change your fluid to Motul RBF600. It's a great fluid for the price. About 14-20 bucks for a bottle. I have been using it for about a year and a half and never had any issues with it. I am not sure about the pads though. I don't know much of anything about the Hawks. I run Carbotechs. XP-8's and XP-10's are a good combo if you still drive it on the street.
Im using ATE super blue DOT4 fluid with the Hawk pads. I've read descent reviews about the two and although the HP+ pads squeal like a mother under street driving i only use them on the track so its no big deal.

The HP+'s are a really good autocross pad, but they don't handle heat well enough for road course/HPDE use. If your looking for a fully streetable intermediate pad that will hold up to a Z on a fast road course try the EBC Blue Stuff with the ducts and I think you'll be good. The EBC pads hold up to the heat (I believe they are rated up to 1600F at .45u) and are dead quiet on the street. Only downside is the amount of initial bite. I'd say they are a low/med bite pad that requires a little extra pressure to get the job done. They also have a similar price to the HP+'s.

I'm very interested in getting these ducts. I was wondering if someone that has installed these could put together a list of what else I need (tubing, pieces for the front) and where I can get them so I have a comprehensive list. If I go back and try myself I'll forget something crucial I'm sure...

Got mine in the other day and it is a nice piece. Here will be my 2012 brake setup. This is coming from a stock 03 non brembo setup. Install hopefully in 1-2 weeks as time allows. I will be using 2.5 in tubing, and some pegasus auto racing universal ducts.
Rotors are DBA 4000's
Pads are Carbotech XP10's
lines are some brand stainless
Lower mileage brembos off of an 04 G35C

Ok, got my ducting ran, just have to install NASA ducts in the bumper, I did notice if you take out the reflector it is the perfect size for the NASA duct, but its on the side of the bumper a little and not sure if the amount of air I would like would get in there. What do you guys think, cut a hole in location 1 or try to place the ducts in location 2.

Positioning obviously didn't work too good
The tire has destroyed the duct!
Should I move duct upwards....downwards...?????
BTW, the ducting is 2.5 inch diameter and I'm running 275 tires.

Mine got rubbed too, but not that bad. I climbed under the car and had someone turn the wheel to see when they hit. It was about 1.5-1.75 turn range is when it starts to hit. So it never hits on track. It only hits when parking in tight spots. I just try to be careful not to crank on the wheel too much while parking.

Move it down. When the car is under load, that location is right where the wheel is. If you move it down, it should miss.
