As expected.....the pony car guys are not havin' it on sccaforums. They continue to contest that the 350z is an "extremely competitive BSP car."

I finally snapped over on SCCAForums and just said what I really thought.

I was nicer, but I honestly don't understand all of the fear over the 350Z -- both in F Stock and in ESP.

The F Stock guys keep crowing about how fast the new Mustangs are -- until someone suggests putting the 350Z into the class, then they cry about how slow the Mustangs are. The same thing seems to be true of the ESP crowd.

I don't understand why they:

A) think the 350 is so competitive in BSP
B) Is going to such a dominate car in ESP or F-stock for that matter
C) Why the Z deserves no fair classification.
D) For what reason they continue to protest that ESP is a pony car only club when the WRX's already race there.

Just my thoughts.

would that include the G35 as well? where does the 370Z and G37 fall? Right now I am torn between a new 5.0-stang or a used G37, but part of me still wants to give my G35 a shot.

oh and 03threefiftyz...Strano is no joke. If he were to drop some pounds on himself he'd be even harder to catch (correct me if I am wrong, but there was one vid i saw that gave me the impression he was packing some weight).

Posting on SCCAForums does nothing. Letters to the SEB does.

I have been racing with Sam for a while....there is a reason he has won something like 7 jackets. He is certainly no light weight.....he (and I) could both stand to lose to weight. I am not remotely on his or the other NC winning drivers.....I am closing the gap in a sense, but am still a ways off.

Maybe because 30 years ago the 240Z/260Z/280Z came in and cleaned house?

Maybe because they have a place to play (and be competitive) and don't want anything to potentially upset their apple cart?

Maybe because they don't care about finding a place for a car to play that has had very few people show up at events driving? (It wouldn't have anything to do with where the car is classed?)

The only way this will change is if people write letters to sebscca.com.

I was in the midst of typing another reply on sccaforums, but you pretty much covered it with your most recent post. Spot on reply.

I think this has a lot to do with it for those members who have been around for a while. You had a car that dominated it's class for over 10 years, and there are a lot of stereotyping of any Z car since.

The 240Z is still cleaning house in FP. BTW... Sam Strano got his start competing in ASP with a 280ZX. Ask him how competitive that car was... :-)

Personally I think Strano is a joke, mainly cuz he's a douche. His driving isn't top notch, his setup abilitly probably is though.

I'm all for the 350Z to be moved ESP, even FS. Looking back I wish I did purchase a G35c and said bye bye to strano and others in FS.

I know a lot of people don't particularly like Strano, but he has always been perfectly amicable when I have talked with him.
