That's a toss up with the weight vs aero....I would think the aero would be quicker in the in the end. I assume you are going to be doing some back to back testing to verify which is the better approach?

Looks great. I'm in the process of doing this now and prepping it for drift. To remove the heater unit did you have to pull the dash out, or is there enough room to slide it out under the dash?

Ive used dry ice and the heat gun and the ice is great for the flat parts (like the trunk) but you can't really get it on places like the wheel wells. The heat gun gets it off but leaves a lot of nasty **** on it. Another guy has a thread on here and he used some kind of degreaser on it. Looks like wirewheel does the trick too. Just bloody time consuming.

Looks good though! Im going to attack my front cabin this year. Time for a 350z superleggera!

Submarine belt also know as the crotch belt, also know as the 5th or 5th and 6th mounting points in a 5 or 6 point harness. It typically thread thru the middle of your seat bottom , between the drivers legs and mounts on the floor.

I figured that's what you meant. I drilled holes into my seat bracket and bolted it to that. I am selling my seats and getting a new one, so I am not sure how I am going to do it. I have to look at the rules. Are they normally supposed to be bolted to the floor or the seat bracket?

Yes. I am going to bring everything I need to put it back on at the track. I am going to most likely do the Friday practice day and try it with and without. Whichever set up is faster is what I am going to go with.

I had to pull the dash out and the huge steel bar that runs under the dash. I didn't have to completely remove the steel bar, but I did have to unbolt it so I could move it around enough to get the heater core out. It was kind of a PITA to get out. I just spliced the hoses together in the engine bay that used to run to it.

I had all of the interior out except the dash. So I removed the dash and all of the unused things under it. I ran an APR GTC-300 wing with a front splitter and air dam that I made. I also run Hoosier A6's.

Here are a couple pics from this past summer.

To the floor , even with or aft of the hole in your seat for it.

I am in the exact same stage as you Fixxxercask, i feel your pain for the deadener removal!
i used dry ice first as i found it the best way, but some sections/types of sounddeadener just didnt want to budge, the rest i used a heat gun and scraper, then elbow grease to clean it up for painting after the cage is finished.
its weight before the cage install was 2930lbs with one stock seat most interior,
heres a couple of pics as it sits at the moment (rear half of the cage done)

Looks great. You went all out and removed the metal behind the seats that used to hold the glove boxes and speakers. I was on the fence about that and decided against it. Hopefully I will get to finish some more this week and get it all done by the weekend.

How much did you save by removing that section?

Nice, thanks for the info.

To OP, your car is one of the nicest setups I've seen and it keeps on getting better. Can't wait to see the final result!

Got some more work done today on the center console and passenger side floor. I wanted to get the passenger side all done, but time did not permit. Here are the most recent pics.
