^ Where do you usually race? I'd love to see your car in person and maybe even get some pointers from you on track driving.

Mid Ohio is my home track. I stay in the Midwest for the most part. Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania all have tracks that my NASA region runs.

BTW. I love how many posts you have. LOL

Oh yea...and your join date.

Finally got all of it removed from the cabin area. I need to add a few more coats of paint, but all the hard stuff is done. More pics...

Next it's onto the trunk, then I'm done.

Once all this madness is done with the sound deadening, I am going to work on removing the remainder of the un-used wires and clean it all up. It's a huge mess right now. I am going to put a piece of aluminum in the center where the cubby and all that used to be and put some gauges there and my transponder switch.

Got this beauty yesterday too. Just waiting on the hub and quick release to get here. Also got some ART pipes on the way.

Finally got all the sound deadening out. The trunk took me forever. Also did a few other small things and took the wing off. Car looks funny without the wing, yet fast. The hatch is not latched completely. That is why there is crazy gap. I set the bucket next to my wheels so you can have a comparison of how much there is. I took it home and weighed it and it weighs ~15lbs. That doesn't count all the stuff that had to be wire wheeled out and then vacuumed up. I think it would be around 18lbs total. I think it was worth it. The floor looks much better than having all that crap on there anyway.

Before I started tonight, I weighed the car too. With my new seat and brackets in there and half tank it was 2870. I think I can have it down to almost 2800 before the cage goes in. I still have a lot of stuff coming off. Going back to stock A-arms, the aftermarket ones way a ton compared to stock; wing came off; front splitter and air dam is coming off; headlights are being removed and just getting a fiberglass cover, steering wheel is coming off with airbag and getting a racing one and getting rear lexan. That may enough to get me down to 2800. That would be super...

What are you using for camber adjustment now that you're going back to stock a-arm?

I would think at the very least it will have some serious offset bushings. Even still, I'd take the points with the aftermarket arms.

I hear you on removing evry last bit of unneeded weight, but have u thought about losing weight yourself? Im sure you will get to a point where it will get harder to find things u can remove/cut out of work the car....i have no idea how much you weigh or how tall you are, but the next best thing might be to go on a diet...

Not trying to be rude or anything, just brainstorming

Also, have you removed the window motors and glass?

Cf hatch?

Remove evap canister (not sure if that is allowed in your class or per nasa regulations)

Braille battery?

Test pipes (stupid stock cats r heavy)....

Again, just brainstorming

I actually have been hitting the treadmill pretty hard this winter. I stand to lose about 20lbs max. I'm around 170 now. I was 150 a couple years ago when I was working out regularly. I am trying to get back there.

The after market camber arms are not helping at all unless I run the SPL A-arms which I have. I am currently running the Cusco's and they are maxed out and it's still not enough at least I am pretty sure. I am going to be doing some testing in April to determine what exactly I need. I take 4 points for those arms.

The SPL arms IMHO are by far the best because of the spherical joints and I can get a huge range of adjustment out of them. Unfortunately because they have spherical joints at the chassis connection point I have to take an additional 3 points. So taking 7 points for A-arms is insane. I used the stock ones earlier in the year and lowered the front of the car and was able to achieve optimal camber. I am going to try that route first.

The rules are strange because it says I am allowed to modify my stock arms to allow for camber adjustment, but aftermarket ones are 4 points. the Cusco arms are heavier and allow for camber adjustment. I don't see the reason for taking 4 points, but oh well. Rules are rules. I am going to see if I can find a fabricator (I have one in mind) to modify my stock arms to allow to shim or something.

Basically, the whole reason for removing a lot of this stuff is to get more into my classes power/weight. I can take those points in weight now. My car's power/weight is in TTC. I am miles away from TTB's max. At Nationals, pretty much every car that won it's TT class was at the top of power/weight. I want to see how much difference it is going to be. I am going to be 140lbs lighter than last year and about 15-20 more hp.

I just received my ART pipes the other day. I will be removing my HFC's and replacing them with the these.

Too bad SPL doesn't have an option for bushings instead of spherical for situations like this.

I have them, absolutely love them too.

^this lol
I have the SPL's and the class I'll be running this year doesn't allow spherical joints, so I won't be running them to begin with unless I can make different ends.

I tired earlier this year and they said they would not be able to do anything for me. If I could get joints made that were poly similar to the Cusco then it would be legal for me to run them and just take 4 points.

I have not removed the evap canister. I suppose I could do that. It is legal in my class. I do have a Braille battery already. The doors are gutted. The windows you see in the pics are just pop in lexan. I remove them at the track.

If I remove the evap canister, won't it throw a code?
