Default Swapping Rotors with harder track pads - Carbotech XP12

I use to run Carbotech XP10s on the stock rotor for track events. After the events I would swap in street pads and continue using the same rotors. This seemed to work well, without any problems or noises.

Well I've upgraded to Carbotech XP12s and am reading these are a bit harsher on the rotors. What would be your recommendations for the rotors? You think it be alright to use the same stock rotors like before?

Yes. If you have two days of hard track use you might clean the rotors with brake clean to remove any possible transfer of materials. If you put new rotors on always clean them with brake clean to get the protective material off. Also if you feel that you have picked up a lot of material from the pads then use some fine emory cloth to clean them. Try to keep the emory cloth as flat as possible as you rub the rotor. Watch your rotors for any cracks and replace them as soon as you see cracks.

I agree,
as long as you check the rotors for unusual wear and cracks, and clean them when you swap the pads it should be just fine..

I am thinking about running this same set up. Are you using Brembos or stock pull calipers? Also how effective are they for track use? I want to run this because my car comp weight with me in it is 2689 lbs.

What car do you run with a comp weight that low. Surely it can't be a Z???

If so, I would love to see some pics.

It is a z. I really got crazy with the interior stripping and had to actually reinforce somethings that support was removed from. Its just a track car though, so no crash bars or anything.
Also I just looked at my first post, the 6 is supposed to be a 7. sorry 2789 lbs. so its pretty light I guess. My fabricator gave me a "WTF" look when I brought him the car. Would post pics but unfortinately I am in Afganistan at the moment.
