Looks like they are F: 855 lbs/in, R: 455 lbs/in

Also looks like these are outboard, so they dont use the spring buckets on the rear lower control arms ... so rear ride height is adjustable (i'd have to go back to the rules to make sure that's allowed).

We've been involved in the development of the spec since back in September so I had a little advance notice.

We should have a Spec Z car ready (and available for rental!) within the next few weeks. I probably don't have time to run it, but can provide coaching and data support if anyone else is interested.

Are you going to use the red Z, Brian?

Those are the OTS spring rates for the club sports. That's good to know.

Ride height is adjustable as long as no metal touches the ground but alignment must remain within specs.

Well. Looks like I'll be selling my v3s. So can we order the club sports through a vendor? Or does it have to b through spec z?

It'll either be that one or our alternate - it's an old never-raced DE body that was a backup for a Grand-AM GS car from a few years back. Gutted and caged with stock suspension and diff still in it. Just dropped one of our rebuilt DEs (non-Rev-Up) in it - 0 miles on it and ready to go

You can probably get twice as much money from parts off the green car (Scotts) as it will cost to build a spec Z, acke15....if you bought it. Food for thought.

If they wanted popular the spec suspension would be Hellaflush and wheels must be heavier than stock and rub at all times.

So, when and where do slug local racers like me buy the Spec Z parts?
suspension and Diff?

And I think RacerBob4 has a deal on wheels...can you give us a Group Buy price on the wheels?

Default Tire Info

Tire Info...http://www.jacksonmotorsportsgroup.com/

These guys can provide the required BFG livery and tires...looks like decent pricing for racers

Jackson Motorsports Group in partnership with BFGoodrich has a racer program that allows us to offer these tires at a discount to racers. Our price for the tires you’ll be running (MSPN 74887 – 275/35-18 – BFG R1) is $285.00 each plus tax and our shipping cost is only $10 per tire. We also offer Michelin and BFGoodrich race and Ultra High Performance tires at discounts to our racers. If you have any additional questions about pricing or availability, you can call us at 800-RACE-BFG.

Paul Hanna (cc’d here) is the BFGoodrich Pavement Manager who works specifically with those running R1’s in series’ like NASA and SCCA. Should you have any questions about setup recommendations for the tires you can contact him via email.

Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any further questions. Thanks!

Call Nissan Motorsprts at (888) 833-3225, or it looks like any dealer can order through Nissan Motorsports, they were willing to take money today at Courtesy in Texas.

The guy at courtesy said email him directly, in bold below.

Yes I am sorry about it they can be quite difficult sometimes. I will have to
call them and get a break down but let me give you my email. It is
abursby@kag-1.net. Also, you can have them contact me through my email and I
can order it for them as well.

Thanks,

I like the sound of Spec Z I have been hearing Spec Miata and Spec Boxster and Spec RX7 for so long that to finally hear my true love is a spec class... exciting! I have been track prepping my 06 now for about a year and just didn't really want to go all the way for the t3 class. Just didn't feel right to me. Instead I just been racing a Spec RX7 to get my fix and only DE-ing my Z. The announcement of this new class changes my goals for next year. I plan on prepping my Z through this year, and possibly moving to spec z by 2013. All the nuances of the class, brakes, trim, whatever, it's part of any spec class and we will figure it all out over time. The important thing is that this class is finally a reality and I for one am IN.

I just purchased an 07. Primarily as a DD but also as a DE track car. Unfortunately this car is in such good shape I don't know if I will get to the point in the next year or so that I'd be willing to gut it and cage it.

But, I may start adding the spec Z mods as I progress up through DE. It looks like I could live with most of the mods on a DD but I am wondering about the suspension kit. I think someone posted that the front springs will be 800 pounds? I don't need a cushy ride on my daily drive, but would that be tolerable in a DD? I've heard reviews of the NISMO as being unsuitable for a DD with aprrox 500 pounds on the front.

So maybe I'll start with sway bars, maybe the diff after that and leave the coilover kit as the last mod prior to the cage?

I could do a deal on wheels for the group or individuals. Unfortunately the Enkei RPF1 is slightly too light for the rules. I called Paul at Nissan Motorsports about lowering the weight of the 9" and 10" but haven't heard back from him. There are other wheels that will work.

Wouldn't the A-Tech Motorsports work? I think they come in at 19 lbs for the 9" wheel.

Has anyone actually weighed the 9" RPF1? Or do they just go by the 18.4# published value? The 10" RPF1 should be ok though.

There might be another here, but it wouldn't be until next year that I get my comp license. That's if I decide to remove parts to run. Chances are I won't do W2W unless I catch the bug. Btw, I'm in Columbus too!

I have some 18x9 RPF1's, but they have tires on them at the moment. If I get some time in the coming weeks I will have on dismounted and weighed for you guys. I can tell you that they "feel" pretty much the same weight as the 18x10.5 in truth.
