Trackdays in the Northeast
I'm looking for organizations that hold trackdays and HPDEs in the Northeast. So far I've come across:
Peformance Drivers Assoc (PDA)
http://www.pdadrivingschool.com/
SCCA New England Region
http://www.ner.org/
NASA
http://www.nasanortheast.org/
CT AutoX and Rally Team (CART)
http://cartct.com/
Sports Car Driving Assoc (SCDA)
http://www.scda1.com/
Eastern Motor Racing Assoc (EMRA)
http://www.emraracing.org/emratt.htm
Trackmasters
http://www.trackmasters.com/
BMWCCA
http://www.gvc-bmwcca.org/ (Watkins Glen)
http://www.ctvalley.org/eventslinks.htm (Lime Rock)
http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/2004/ (NHIS)
Porsche Club
http://www.pca.org/news/index.html
I'm sure I'm missing a few. I usually end up using a variety of organizations in order to make the available trackdays from various tracks fit my schedule, so if there are any more that add more flexibilty to scheduling, I'd like to know of them.
Some of these require memberships to participate, some don't. Personally, I've been at BMWCCA GVR and Trackmasters events. Both were well run. Trackmasters is very inexpensive. I'm very interested in the EMRA time trials.
This might be a nice resource for those looking for tracktime. Maybe admin could make this a sticky?

Good list. Thanks for giving me info on a dozen or more events I didn't know about as I plan out my 2004 driving season.
We could add:
Summit Point Raceway
http://www.bsr-inc.com/RDS.HTM
They run Friday at the Track school and Seat Time days (for experienced drivers only, no instruction)
Car Guys, Inc.
http://www.carguysinc.com/
They run at Watkins Glen, VIR, and Summit Point.
BMWCCA of New Jersey
http://www.njbmwcca.org/
My experiences:
Summit Point is my home track. I've run more than 30 events there. It's a very challenging and technical track. The FATTs are well run, with good instructors (I may be one of them soon). You get four 20-minute sessions in a FATT, five or six on Seat Time days. $175/day.
I ran one Car Guys event at Watkins Glen. A little pricey, but lots of track time.
I've also run events with NASA-VA and NASA-OH/Ind. All were well organized, gave us a good amount of track time, and were reasonably priced. A few were a little too crowded.
Don't forget Skip Barber:
http://www.skipbarber.com
They're based at Lime Rock, but run at tracks all over the country.
You drive their single-seat, open-wheel Barber Dodge racecars, which are a complete blast. I ran the 3-day racing school at Mid-Ohio two years ago, and highly recommend it. Extremely well designed courses. Very pricey: about $900 per day, but worth every penny. (You can usually get some kind of discount for the basic school.)
There are, of course, many other similar racing schools: Bob Bondurant, Bertil Roos, etc., but I haven't done them.

Pretty well covered. This is a good list and looks a lot like my bookmarks on my home computer.
I instruct for BMWCCA (NJ, GVC and Delaware Valley chapters) and with Trackmasters and heartily recommend these organizations. They run quality events.
Incidentally, there are a few other clubs that will give you track time:
Ferrari club, Quattro Club, TracQuest, etc...

Great thread! I have one more:
COM Sports Car Club
http://www.comscc.org/
They run at many tracks in the Northeast (NHIS, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, etc). I think they're also doing one event at the new track in NH (Valley Motorsports Park - aka Club Motorsports). I've never been to one of their events but some of my friends from the Z Car Club of New England (www.zccne.addr.com) have and liked it. I'm planning on doing one this year.

I've collected nearly 200 HPDE track events in 2004 in the Northeast, within a 600-mile radius from the Baltimore/Washington area, in an Excel file that you can download here.
For the most part, these dates are taken from the organizers' own web sites. Of course, some clubs and organizers haven't posted their dates or all of their dates yet.
I've also included some advanced Skip Barber classes, since I've been considering them.
The "Distance" field is the distance from Columbia, MD. You may find it useful to substitute your own distances, to help in your travel planning.
If you have any additions, corrections, etc., please feel free to post.

James, I Hate you.
A late July vacation to the Finger Lakes!
I've had fun at PCA's well run events, so I MIGHT lean that way.......
Damn, I want to buy R compounds for local tracks.......but maybe I should check out the new BFG shoes........
Hope to see you at Mid-Ohio.
And a big thanks for putting that list together.....and sharing!

Thanks for the addition, mhoward1.
My list has five CMP events. It's just over 500 miles for me, so it's possible, but since there are at least four or five other tracks I haven't been to that are closer than that, it's not high on my list this year.
Roebling is 625 miles for me, which is about 12 hours of driving, just a tad more than is really fun for a weekend trip. Especially since there are so many other options.

I've updated the spreadsheet with about 30 more events, including all of Summit Point's Friday at the Track and Seat Times. Still at the link in the message four posts above this one.

By the way, I'm also planning on instructing at some SCDA and PDA events this year (rather than just BMWCCA and Tracquest) so hopefully I'll get to meet some of you guys.
James, shoot me an email if you're planning on attending any of the events from these groups. It would be cool to see more Zs at the track..

There's also Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in New Jersey, which is finishing up a road course for late summer or early fall. When it opens, it will be the second closest track to me, after Summit Point.
(BTW, there's at least one Calabogie event on my list, and the track and its Web site are listed on the Tracks worksheet.)

Englishtown has been trying to build that track for years! I'll believe it when I see it.
Although I would really like to see it since it would be about 1 hr away for me! All of my other "local" tracks are 3-5 hrs away.

Good to see Calabogie booking events already. Frankly, they've been a little ballsy going ahead with track development before getting full municipal approval (still pending from what I know).
BTW, I noticed there's no Shannonville (Belleville, ON) event booked. It's quite flat and boring compared to some, but it's quite safe in terms of run-off room.

Don't forget that Rausch Creek in PA is back under construction...
