Let us know how the cutting if the tank idea works out.

Maybe I missed it, you weigh the car 'as is' lately? Interesting to know the dry weight of this thing.

Why are you cutting the rear strut bar? I am just curious if the rear strut bar is really that heavy.

So no rear strut ? or are you gonna reinforce the tower with and inverted strut bar like the 370Z?

Man...would of been great reference to know the weight that you got it down to...

You inspired me to cut my strut bar and putting on the Roll cage!
What kind of roll cage are you using on your 350z?

the reference was the 2480, but have since removed a lot more bolt on things, weather stripping, fuel tank. Surprisingly weather stripping is pretty heavy. All glass is removed for polycarbonate. I would love to be around 2600-2700 lbs, looking into carbon hatch, my stock hatch even cut out still weighs 39lbs.

That's just the normal stripped interior for a 370z... No sheet metal removed.

I am glad you posted that weight of the hatch. Because when I took my glass out I also took the shocks off the hatch, and WOW! you can really feel that thing had a lot of weight! VERY heavy! So I am glad to know even cut out with no glass or polycarbonate window that it is still pretty heavy. I may eventually look into a lighter weight hatch as well.

Had to google what those actually were used for.
