When is the cage going in? And I thought about doing the same to my hatch but was afraid too with the GTC300 back there, as well as the oem glass. Probably a bad idea.

There are no longer any double or triple layers anymore of sheet metal. I am waiting on cage builder as we speak. Might have an awesome surprise about the cage. When I do the wing, it will be mounted to the car not the hatch, so not real worried about the hatch. The doors are flipping awesome now, weigh almost nothing now. Delayed a few months, but working 60-70 hours a week at work all year so far. The seat is FIA spec, pulled it directly from their rules.

Most were drilled out with spot weld bit, just depending on what was connected to the other side

I got scales and I am close by. Lets weigh it before you put the cage in. I was 2800 before my cage with 1/4 tank of fuel and I am not nearly as gutted as you. I am guessing 2600-2650 before cage.

Here my roll bar so far, probably finish the entire cage for next year. Doesn't need a complete cage for local Time attack...
Just need to remove the inner quarter panel to complete the weight reduction in this area.
Good luck !!!
