Another fantastic weekend at limerock with BMWCCA.
Was able to instruct my long time friend at his first ever track day. Nice MR2! We had a blast.

Hit a new PR. 1.04.47 super happy about that. Was able to run consistent 1.05 all day.

No issues with the car. Still getting VERY hot inside. The air duct does help somewhat but not as much as I would have hoped.

First time on Thompson in CT. Relatively new track for the area. Overall the track needs a better flow, not sure if I will go out of my way to go back.

Ignition coil failure. Drove on 5yl most of the day.

1.28.67 dont really know the track yet.

Found a broken rear seat mount bolt during the check over for this weekend. Fixed for now might do something more robust over the winter.

Check your seat mounts!

ummmmmmm, thats sketchy as fugggggg. Surprised to see that fail, cosidering how huge that bolt is. Have you ever removed the seat before? Looks like the thread might have been cross threaded before failure occurred.

Many times i have removed the seat. The bolt was definitely not crossed. I checked once I extracted it as well.
Reinforce seems like a very good idea for all of them at this point.

Check out the FB group, TONS of guys with the same complaint when I posted it.

Made the trip up to Watkins Glen. Man is that track FAST! Absolute perfect weather.
Not sure, I dont have my usual pace at WGI best I could do was 2.25.09

More seat time and practice at WGI should be planned.

LOTS OF BUGS!

Love it up here. Seneca lake

I have broken the spot welds on that seat nut before as well.
I was on track and felt the seat moving a bit. Came into pits to see that.

New tires, ready to rock

Limerock! Perfect day. Managed a 1.05.3 No brakes on the downhill! Happy about that achievement.

Track prep for NYST next week.

New ARPs for piece of mind. Old ones into the spares bin.

Found a cracked front rotor on the back side, have a spare blank to take me the rest of the season.

Great thread and Keep it up! NYST is a fun track, its the track that bit me with the track bug Make sure you take the thruway up and over instead of 17, a lot of back roads and crazy big hills that really tested my trucks brakes with the Z in an enclosed trailer behind. At one time I almost thought I was going to end up in a lake

Hey man, thanks for the tip. Can you post the map link? Def want to avoid the non trailer friendly route.

Hows this look?
