Kinda OT I know, but I usually design the flyers for the local Audi club events, here's one I made for upcoming VIR DE

You will really like those SPL bushings and endlinks. I've been slowly replacing my bushings as they fail or get near to failure with SPL parts and I've been thoroughly pleased with all their products.

Fresh video of a few laps from Summit. Gotta say Michelin slicks are excellent, my lap time went from 1:28.8 in the spring to 1:26.2 yesterday. And then this morning I discovered the front toe was all out of whack, car pulling hard left. Didn't hit anything so not sure if I bent a linkage, destroyed a joint or maybe a wheel bearing. Will take it apart next weekend to find out what went wrong. Quite possible the grippy slicks overpowered whatever bit of OEM suspension are left in the front.

Figured out what happened, the front left tire has failed, the belt has separated and the tire bulged out on one side. Might be hard to see in the pics, but the inside half of the tire is taller than the outside half. Fortunately I have 6 of these tires so I was able to mount a spare for upcoming VIR event.

I also noticed that the SPL front sway bar links I installed have shifted themselves. I guess having two spherical joins will do that, not sure if there's anything I can do to prevent this from happening.

While I was at it I went ahead and installed canards that came with my front bumper. They've been sitting on the shelf for a while and while I doubt there is much benefit to running them I figured might as well...

I have the same 'issue' with the SPL end links too.
I've tried adjusting them a few times but not quite sure how to get them so it's all lined up nicely like the instructions.

Yeah, I realigned them but they are not gonna stay aligned very long. I guess it's fine as long as the movement is uninhibited, just kinda annoying if you have OCD :P

I'm designing hood vents that'll fit in the middle of the stock hood right above and in front of the strut tower brace. Because of limited size of the 3D printer platter I'm making two mirror vents that'll sit next to each so they miss all the stock hood supports underneath and go right up to the hood crease on each side. More to come after I cut up my hood...

Nice !
I'm also planning on doing something like this, as well as what 350Z247 (youtube) with his rad venting/duct.
I would have loved to buy a hood that already had this stuff done but the pricing to the UK sucks! (plus it's a bit more fun cutting stuff up eh)

Since my hood has already been scratched up in the tire wall incident, sanded in places and vinyl wrapped I figured there's no harm in cutting it up some more. Also, there is no weight advantage going with aftermarket hoods, and I'd have to install pins to hold it down. The only difficulty right now is printing ABS plastic that can withstand the temps on top of the engine. I've had to enclose the printer to build up enough heat so that the print doesn't warp off the plate, but even so it's still a bit touch-and-go.

A couple more designs. The first one will sit on each side of the hood near the fender, the second will be right down the middle by the windshield. Since that's a low pressure spot I flipped it to be internal.

If anyone would like to print their own, the design is now on Thingiverse. I'll add the side vents once I make sure they fit ok.

I got the side vents installed. Like before they follow the openings in the hood structure. I also added these to the Thingiverse download.

Those vents seem a bit farther back that I would have expected. Any reason on why you chose so far rearwards? or was it based on hood structure.

Yeah, the hood structure played a big part in vent location. Also I figured this way I'm not only improving the radiator airflow but also providing a bit of extra cooling for the engine.

Julian Edgar has some really useful videos and books too on all of this kind of stuff (lots of practical stuff):

Worth checking out, and reminds me I need to buy a couple of his books too !
