I have run then on Road Atlanta and VIR Full, and VIR South so far. For S&G I took them out on the street Monday. Exit ramps on R-Compounds are a bunch of fun.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to slapping these RA-1s on my track rims this weekend!

If you're looking for another option, look at Hankook. I have their C70 275/17's and they're great; I've run RA-1's, and the Hankooks are much stickier...I got the softest rubber they offer b/c I'm doing AutoX. If you're looking for something that will last longer, then get their C30...C70 is their softest, C50 middle, C30 harder.

For autox, I used the same set of tires from the dumpster. I ended up getting about 6 top 10s (overall) and 1 FTD in the rain on the slicks....

It looked like you were driving in the snow! Perhaps you can zoom in a bit so the aperture is set to the light outside instead of inside the cabin. Your tires were screaming in pain though...nice.

It's hard to do when you use a security camera using AV input to record with a camcorder. It looks better in higher resolution, but i cant post anything bigger.

The word Z goes with tire screaming and brake wearing down...

These are the tires I received from John Berget Racing. Is this consistent to what you have received? They are the best tires he had at $70 each, full rubber... First picture is the best tire. What do you think ?

These are shaved RA-1's that have been heat cycled. They look like they have about 1/2 the shaved depth still left. Once you roll on them one time they will clean themselves up, so don't worry what they look like right now.

Those look good. They're almost at the point where they'll be their fastest.
On an RA-1, any time you see 4 grooves, you've got a lot of rubber left.

The set that I received from Berget Racing looks similar in wear, with the four grooves still showing in each tire. I did notice though that all four of the used RA-1s that I bought had slight shoulder wear. Does anyone know if it's alright for me to flip the RA-1s? The label on the side states they're directional but when I look at the thread pattern (grooves), I would think I should be able to flip them. It looks like it really does not matter which direction they're mounted. Anyone?

Yes, you should flip them on the rims at about half way through their life. Even before you notice inside wear.
Toyo's website used to have a suggestions page with recommended temp ranges and camber suggestions. On that page they said to flip them half way through their life.

Here is a tip. If you drive a STOCK Z and drives it hard, I recommend flipping them every 2 to 3 events....

What will be the first sign telling me that there is not much rubber left ?

Also, for dismounting or flipping them, you mean moving a right side tire to the left side while keeping the rotation in the same direction ?

just take one tire, remove it for the rim and flip it so the outside becomes the inside.

Drive the tire until you see cord or they dont grip anymore
