Who's running Toyo RA-1s?

If you're looking for another option, look at Hankook. I have their C70 275/17's and they're great; I've run RA-1's, and the Hankooks are much stickier...I got the softest rubber they offer b/c I'm doing AutoX. If you're looking for something that will last longer, then get their C30...C70 is their softest, C50 middle, C30 harder.

The word Z goes with tire screaming and brake wearing down...
These are the tires I received from John Berget Racing. Is this consistent to what you have received? They are the best tires he had at $70 each, full rubber... First picture is the best tire. What do you think ?
These are shaved RA-1's that have been heat cycled. They look like they have about 1/2 the shaved depth still left. Once you roll on them one time they will clean themselves up, so don't worry what they look like right now.

On an RA-1, any time you see 4 grooves, you've got a lot of rubber left.
The set that I received from Berget Racing looks similar in wear, with the four grooves still showing in each tire. I did notice though that all four of the used RA-1s that I bought had slight shoulder wear. Does anyone know if it's alright for me to flip the RA-1s? The label on the side states they're directional but when I look at the thread pattern (grooves), I would think I should be able to flip them. It looks like it really does not matter which direction they're mounted. Anyone?
Yes, you should flip them on the rims at about half way through their life. Even before you notice inside wear.
Toyo's website used to have a suggestions page with recommended temp ranges and camber suggestions. On that page they said to flip them half way through their life.

Also, for dismounting or flipping them, you mean moving a right side tire to the left side while keeping the rotation in the same direction ?
