Exclamation 'BRAKE' light goes on under hard braking

Anyone know what this could be?

I've had the 'BRAKE' light, ABS light & the VDC light go on before, and that was because of low brake fluid. Now when I brake hard, I get the 'BRAKE' light. Any thoughts?

1) Brake fluid is too low.

2) Brake pads are worn.

Mine went on in the same circumstances when the pads were worn. Replaced pads and no more problems.

Thanks, I'll check the fluid again I guess.

I switched to SS brake lines & changed the rotors & pads, and ever since then, I always have some kind of issue.

There was a thread about this exact issue couple of days ago.. Check your brake pads before you refill on fluid.

Wow, could my pads have worn out since June?

I filled up with brake fluid, and the light went away. I must have some leak on the SS lines I put in.

I should probably re-do with some of that plumbers tape on every connection.

Thanks for the help

Had the same prob with slightly low brake fluid due to how low my pads were. Check your pads and fluid.

Check your pads before they run out of material you ruin your rotors...

Fluid doesn't evaporates and a leak would be pretty obvious in the brake pedal feel.

Not checking your brake pads when your fluid is low is just asking for trouble. And I can run through a set of brake pads in one weekend (although that is 8 hours or more at a track like Sebring).

You are technically not correct with this statement, the other guy had a problem with his "break" light

That is correct, and of course, a completely separate issue. Many people on this forum have problems with the break system, including problems with the break pads. I guess they work long hours and need a break too often.

Hahah, so I guess I'm not the only one that sees so many spelling, grammatical, punctuation, etc errors here on the board.
