Default How are Posi Quiet Extended Duty pads?

Hey guys,

has anyone ever used these pads? I ordered a stoptech stage 2 kit from one of the vendors on here and they told me that the kits are backordered 3 weeks because of a shortage of the axxis ultimate pads so they offered me these as an alternative. I've never heard of them and I can't really find any info on them online. what do you guys think? they're called: Posi Quiet Extended Duty pads.

thanks.

Anyone had experience with "Posi Quiet 104" pads? I was told to pick up some to rectify my rear brake squeal problem I'm having with the Axxis Ultimates...

Can't help with the 104 but I can say the 105 posi quiet ceramic have been great for me. Have about 1k miles and no squeal nor dust which was a priority in brake pads.

+1 Same here. No noise and hardly any dust my wheels actually stay clean for more than a couple of days.

I ran the 104 pads front and rear in my stock STi calipers before switching to my BBK and was very pleased with them. Not as much bite as the stock Brembo pads but still good with very low noise our dust.

I found a link that has the various Posi Quiet pads:
http://www.brakewarehouse.com/centri...asp#posi_quiet

Apparently these pads are manufactured by Centric. This is the company that now owns Stoptech...

This is why I'm planning on switching to the Posi Quiet pads: (starting with post #4)

What do ya' think?

Here's the charts comparing the different types of pads. That's a really good website...

i thought the priority for a pad was for it to stop the car, the rest is just for ride comfort

but back on topic, haven't heard too much about these at all.

+1. I used ceramic pads in the past, and have never liked them. Their biting ability was far less than that of a non-ceramic pad. Then again, I've only had experience with one brand of ceramic pads. There could be others out there that offer both the biting quality and quietness all wrapped up in one.

Personally, brake dust isn't a big factor to me. My front Axxis UTL's leave a crap load of brake dust, but they bite hard. I like the feeling of mashing down on the brake pedal and feeling your brakes bite into the rotor. The only amenity I can not sacrifice is the quietness of the pad. I can't have any squeal what so ever...

The 106 Extended Wear's seem like an application I could go with. I like their noise resistance & operating friction level, but am not too crazy about their fade ressistance. The 104 Semi Metallics on the other hand, offer a better fade resistance & the same noise quality, but their operating friction temp is higher.

Being they are a rear brake pad, reaching operating temp will be harder vs. the fronts. I'd like a pad that is ready to bite during normal driving and not have to slam on the brakes a few times to warm them up & get rid of the squeal...

I have no squeal with my Axxis Ultimates with the Stoptech BBK. Did you use lots of anti-squeal on the backing?

The pads already had an anti-squeak patch on the back, so I installed them without anything additional....

I added the spray anti-squeal, a good layer. No sounds so far. Maybe it might help?

It's worth a shot I guess. I'll try it out before ordering new pads. I just hate gettting the car up and taking off the damn wheels everytime.

I decided to go with the Posi Quiet 104's. Currently waiting for a rep to call me back so we can figure out the pad part # that will fit my rear Stoptech 2-Pot ST-22's.
