Default OEM Brembo pads vs. Axxis Ultimates

So how do these two pads compare in terms of bite, dust, squeal, rotor wear....

Did a quick search and didn't find a direct comparison.

ive had both.. although i didnt go directly from oem brembo pads to the AU pads.
iirc i dont think the oem pads had any advantages over the AU pads that i noticed... and i believe the AU pads are cheaper (unlessyou play the oem supply game well)

maybe someone else can comment more

I have an '06 track with the OEM brembos. I recently did the stoptech stage II in the front with the Axxis Ultimates.

Overall I don't really notice a difference, but then again, I wasn't really paying as much attention to the OEM pads as I am with the current Axxis.

Another fellow Z owner with the stoptech stage II told me he'll be going back to the OEM brembo pads when the time comes. We didn't go into that much detail, but he said he just enjoyed them better in terms of performance and "feel."

Also from searching this forum, I've read that stops from 100+ with the Axxis Ultimates yielded in fade within the first stop. So that got me wondering.

Perhaps there is a little less dust with the Ultimates, but then again, I've been washing the car a lot lately so that skews the comparison.

Also I recently bedded the AUs really well. Something I unfortunately never did with the stock pads.

I have tried 2 sets of OEM pads, Hawk HPS and Axxis Ult's...compared to stock the Axxis pads have more initial bite, and to me feel better after high speed braking. I never encountered fading with stock brakes, but I didnt have more than 2X stock power then either. Both dust about the same, maybe the Axxis a little more-I'll take performance over dust anyday....

btw-to the guy saying he heard Axxis pads fade after ONE 100mph+ stop-its BS, Ive got on them HARD and repeatedly from speeds over 140mph with no fade.

I was fading with my axis ultimates after a few 80-100mph stops, but thinking about it I don't think they were ever bedded in recently.

anyway, I'm switching to cobalt friction pads which have a a much higher heat capacity
