Default thoughts on Brembos

If you recall last week, we had a debate over the silver/blue brakes on the RHD fairlady as to whether or not they were brembos. Looking closely at the 2, I am pretty sure they are.

Assuming they are the same Brembo brakes on both cars, do you think the Track model brembos will be painted gold with brembo on them, or plain silver blue like the fairlady. I sure hope they are gold.

I would hope that they are gold with Brembo painted on them.

Although IMO, the gold is kinda an ugly color. They should go with red or yellow. KYO with red calipers would look sweeeeeeet!

I would bet they will look like the ones on the other show car seen at NY. i.e. gold with red Brembo logo.

I'm thinking Gold as well, but you can paint them whatever color you want for cheap and then get a Brembo stencil to paint on the writing. Just want to let you guys know that 4 piston calipers are great, but cost a &^$* load to maintain. I just replaced everything (rotors and pads on all 4 corners) as well as had my calipers rebuilt in my Porsche (4 piston Brembos...most likely very similar to those on the Z) and it was over $2000 Canadian.

2,000 CAD is about $1,333 US. When you say replaced, do you me have brand new rotors and pads but in, or just having the rotors turned and replacing the pads?

If you did replace everything, how long did the rotors last (KM). And were you driving pretty had with them?

I'm asking because i'm thinking about doing a brake upgrade for my Z when I get.
