I placed an order. If you look at the the pic of what they are selling, there's a small spacer on top of the dust boot. Does this need to be used?

Is it this one that will fit the ebay ball joint i linked? http://www.energysuspensionparts.com...?prod=9.13130#

That sucks so i guess the better question would be who has a 05+ and replaced the ball joint and where did you order it from.

That's the same question phrased differently. Why do you keep assuming 05+ be any different?

I'm pretty certain there are no differences (not there anyway) between the years, hence one part number for all years. Read the thread to see where others got theirs from and check those places out.

Just got the Autzone ball joints. Quick question. Do you need to remove the boot in order to press the new ones in or can I press them in with the boots?

Leave the boots as is. The press fitting/pipe(?) can fit over it. Just make sure you don't accidentally press the rubber.

Thanks. I'm actually going to take the knucke to a shop so they can press out the old one and press the new one. I just gave up with the autozone press after 1hr of trying.

Also do I need the cone? It's a pita to remove.

I did it with the AZ rental tool fairly quickly. You just need to make sure you get the proper order of the press tools.

And yes, you NEED that cone. Without it, you won't be able to install it properly.

Are these meant to replace ball joints in the front? Has anyone tried these?

I can't see them being 4x better than the eBay or Duralast.

People have had good results with both of those 6x.xx units.

^ Correction: eBay costs $6x.xx for a pair while the Duralast is $6x.xx for a single side (so total is $12x.xx)

Also, I'm fairly certain those Megans are exact same as the eBay ones.

Sorry, didn't know that.

I have had the eBay ones sitting for months.

2-4 x better.

Should I just get a pair of Duralast ones then? I've had enough of car fun in the past 3 weeks (coils, all new arms for the back, upper arms for the front, shitton of new bushings, trany mount, new tires, pulleys, throttle body clean and consequent P0507 code - FML) and I REALLY do not want to modify a set of ball joints for them to last (eBay ones, right?). Which set can I just swap and leave alone?

Both. My eBay ones weren't installed properly as it turned out but if done right, I don't see why it'd have any issues. Duralast ones do come with better boots, though, but I don't know if it'll last twice as long (since it's twice the price).

I remember earlier when this thread was created someone mentioned that the balljoint didnt work on 05+ so i ended up buying the whole spindle. But I guess this time ill bite the 50-60 and buy the ball joints and see for myself if they fit..

It's too late now. But I ordered them 2 weeks after the old coupon expired and 1 week before the new one was emailed to me

I just found CZP ball joints. Has anyone tried these?

Cheaper than Duralast and come with the cones. They also look like eBay ones though. Comments?
