Default opinions on what to do while replacing struts/springs

ok below is my car how it sits right now. stock suspension. car has roughly 130k on the suspension and the struts are gone. i have the eibach pro-kit and Tokico D-SPEC struts on the way. i already have hotchkis sways that i put on a month ago. i will be looking at my bushings while im under the car thursday. but im wondering is there anything i should do while im under? i dont have the time i would like to get things like this done, so is there anything else i should check or even REPLACE while im doing the work?

one last question, i know how to do the "spring mount cut mod," but judging from this picture should i wait to see how the springs settle before i do? im running 255/45's in the rear so the height is slightly taller than stock.

thanks in advance

The Z looks good for 130,000 miles. Has the front bumper been painted?

With the new suspension it will ride like a new car. And when you are under the car hold on to suspension components and give them a good tug - look for excessive play. BTW wheels bearings are OK?

yeah i had an 06 bumper put on several months ago. the wheel bearings are ok as of now. (knock on wood) all im having is small problems like window motor, gas tank sending unit, blah blah. all is fixed now. i try and take pretty good care of the car.... except for the engine, it was replaced @107k.

can do on the suspension parts, i hope they are ok. I have to say, the Z has really held up. i drive the crap out of it. im even still on the stock clutch which has surprised me. at about 90k i literally BROKE the 3rd gear and the guy said the clutch looked good

ha ha tricked me with the painted bumper. BTW I drove a white 350Z with 70,000 miles, and the bumper never looked that damn good.

Surprised with the miles and wheel bearings. Had no idea they could last that long.

the rings in the #6cyl were gone. more than likely from running low on oil.

was there any warning on the cylinder mishap?

some irony in this thread as you are dealing with all the same
issues as I suspension wise... will also have to take a look at
bearings and bushings.

good post and responses

i had a pretty good warning that my engine was gonna go. I heard ticking that got worse over time. eventually i was just blowing oil straight out of the tail pipes. it only took one time of riding it hard low on oil (which i didnt know until my oil light came on)

def check your bushings. I didnt check all of mine when I replaced the suspension because basically I didnt want to know I needed to replace them. BUT that will be the next thing I replace now after the Hub/bearing in the rear. i do know my rear diff bushing is cracked and needs to be replace. I'll probably do them all at once if i can

I will say my car handles great w/ the new suspension i chose
