Dual rear calipers ebrake
Hm, weird. Oh well, its sumthing
Since the bracket is made to hold dual calipers, what would cause the setup to lose the OEM e brake function? Unless it would have something to do with the drum type setup we have? Unless i'm mistaken.
From what I'm looking at, it seems that one could run an independent hydro brake to one set of calipers and leave the other for OEM parking needs

as you can see my bracket has the holes for oem parking brake (3 bottom ones)

assuming that only the bit marked red is missing,

keeping the parking brake would only require an extension or a spacer for the bracket and ofcourse making sure that thickness of the bracket is the same as the spacers for the oem caliper. Hope this makes sense.
hands down skyfers set up is the best......
Like he is explaining all the mounting points for the drum styled parking brake pieces are on the brake dust shield. The brake dust shield itself is what mounts and aligns the components of the oem drum shoes in place for the oem style parking brake set up.
See this picture here:

- in that picture you see the 3 holes that are added to the bottom of skyfers bracket - the two outside holes are actually mounting bolts with a funky bracket that is required for the use of the oem parking brake.
-from there the hub bolts themselves goes through it as well.
-ALSO, items #21,22 and 23 in the pic are what hold the parking brake shoes to the dush shield.
-The middle hole is just a hole - parking brake cable runs through middle hole.
Here is another pic from post 103:

now, to accommodate the added 2nd caliper you do have to make a notch for it in the brake dust shield like shown in the following picture in red dashed lines like the oem caliper location.
Or you can snip off the entire circular brake dust shield (like the green snips are doing) leaving only the center section that retains all the parking brake mounting components.

in this pic:

in this pic you can see the oem dust shield mounts between the hub itself and the rear knuckle......Soo, when you introduce a 2nd caliper bracket to the stack up, the dust shield must still be against the hub, then the 2nd caliper bracket, then the rear knuckle...
Soooo.:
So, the end result is - to keep the oem parking brake, the 2nd caliper bracket you buy or make, etc must have provision for the 3 holes like skyfers does and you must keep at least the center section with all the mounting points for the oem parking brake components.

-bob's kit and jordank kit both are flat parts.........they require that you must have a spacer behind the rotor and longer studs mounted to the hub.
-madmanbryan design is like skyfers but lacks the drilling of ebrake holes, so his has no ebrake.
your wheel is now sticking out XX milimiters equal to the thickness of the stack up and you lost oem parking brake due to them not adding it in their design.
skyfers design only adds 7.62mm to the offset of his wheels - that 7.62mm is the thickness of his 2nd caliper bracket at the hub mounting to the knuckle with the 2nd caliper bracket in between....
all this is due to the fact of what i post on post 200:

Jason has my blueprints and he can probably explaine better than me what has to be modded in order to fit properly (some holes need remeassuring). Feel free to use "my design" as you wish. I'm not looking for a profit.
still waiting for my parts from George. I talked to him and he had issues with his machinist but he found another one and everything is getting done but I guess the xmas time delayed everything again.
Jason, can you email me blueprints of skyfers duals. I met a machinist that want to take a crack in doing it. rioenri26@yahoo.com
Tnx

Hawaii did you get the caliper bracket from maverick Motorsports... Do they keep the oem ebrake ... Or any news on skyfers bracket ? I'd really like to nab one of these up ASAP but I'd like to keep the oem ebrake
I emailed maverick they said they had this in stock ... I dunno if that's some bull shzz but I talked to voodoo 13 and they have a set of drop knuckles to be released in March that should have a second bracket for an ebrake ...
this is major news, does anyone else have info on this. would love something by this spring back there

Here's an update with a picture from my end guys! I purchased the Patinka Kit and used it at the cost of my parking brake. I had to go to a local hardware store and buy new bolts and washers. I used the kit at NODRFT's End of Year Bash this past December, and let me just say it is one of the greatest upgrades I've done thus far on the car. Quality parts that turned out to be worth the wait; I just wish that it would have come with all the additional hardware considering the price.
UPDATE! I finally received my kit from George of Maverick, first impression..... Top Grade Stuff!
came with bolts too, everything is coated black, from far away looks like plastic, have to tear down my ride and install this bad boy. Will re-update with pictures.

I also found some time to throw my Patinka kit on this weekend. Very happy with it, would have been nice if it came with hardware. But I actually found an awesome hardware shop just down the street, that set me up with everything I needed for around $20. It was nice to select my own grades of bolts. I ended up ditching the dust shield all together and good riddance to the oem braking brake.
I was using the K-Sport hand brake as an inline system before. On that set up I had to unplug ABS witch was interesting. Now that this is an independent system it feels much better that they aren't fighting each other and glad to have ABS back.

Last weekend had a chance to test the strength of my caliper bracket.

Broke the cv joint on the axle, bent the camber arm into a V shape, bent and twisted the traction rod and spring bucket, bent the upper control arm and broke the knuckle. As far as I can tell the bracket is not even bent.
