Default Please help ASAP replacing rotors

Hey guys trying to throw these new rotors on. Allthe bolts are off, was told give it few smacks w a mallet. How does that shield behind the rotor come off to hit it? Only a little piece of rotor is exposed where the caliper and knuckle were. Thanks guys

Okay these things will not budge. I'm hitting it from behind on the piece of rotor that's accessible then rotating n hitting has not budged

pics? The shield doesn't come off (not easily). You hit them from the front and break them loose that way.

Don't be paranoid...I hammered on my Crv's rears for a good 5 minutes with a sledge until I realized they have an extra two screws holding them on >.<

you can hit the heatshield and rotor at the same time for the rears. Heat shield flexes so when your done be sure to pull it back a bit.

With that in mind use a large rubbet mallet and smack the crap out of the rotor. Rotate, repeat. Be sure to leave at least 1 lug partially on the stud so that the rotor doesnt come flying off.

i use a 3lb hammer to get rotors that are stuck on. Soak them in pb, let it sit, hit it right on the front edge (where theres a 90degree edge going from where the wheel sits, to where the pad squeezes the rotor)....and dont be scared, whack the **** out of it.

there should be two treaded holes on the rotor also if you have access to small metric bolts and then you can tread those in and it will push against the hub and pull the rotor off if your scared to hit it make sure not to tread it in the hole where the little bolt goes to hold the rotor in place lol,i think they should be m8 or smaller bolts and just put even pressure on it

use pb blaster and hit it hard with a hammer not a rubber mallet. if the rotor is trash why be nice to it?
