Not trying to beat a dead horse but......
Alright, so i did plenty of research on the Z itself before buying my first. I also still have a RB25 swapped s13. So with that being said I knew of the feathering issue the Z had before buying. Well it seems I am having that issue. I did an alignment at my job(dealership) to no avail ( before anyone asks....the alignment was still on used tires.) The main question I guess is there anyway to...assuming new tires on and fresh alignment(fixing toe if It's out) to keep the Damn noise at bay for the life of the tires? Or is that a pipe dream? Like any one aftermarket or oem piece that corrects nissans mistake. Other than new tires and alignment every 4k miles( the usual amount of wear I was reading people were seeing before they heard their noise.) Puts flame suit on just in case. Fire when ready.
<- you forgot to include thatYou are correct, that horse has been dead for a long time though.
The only way to prevent feathering is to keep the car in alignment. I get mine done once a year and that's usually sufficient for our crappy pothole filled excuses for roads.
I had feathering 6 years ago and hadn't had a problem since then. In fact, since I got a "real" alignment a few years back, I've been able to double the amount of mileage out of my fronts then I used to get.
The other trick is to get the right kind of tires. I doubt you could be on the RE040s anymore so that shouldn't be an issue. The inner tread block pattern had a lot to do with making the noise worse.
Thanks for moving the thread for me. I was not sure were this would be appropriate. Double thanks for the response. Is will get new tires soon when i get my wheels and then re-do my alignment. I guess once a year isn't too bad. I also haven't ruled out a bearing making the incredpibly loud roaring noise. They didn't seem to have play in them when I had it on the rack.
Edit: front tires are michelin pilot sports and rears are Goodyear rs-a

I don't understand why you would need additional alignments unless you have changed the suspension (especially lowering) or have hit something (or pothole). I'm open to being educated.

At least I was.
I said I would be coming in every other weekend after my drift sessions.
He told me a previous customer did the same and he cut him off.
I don't think he was joking and gave me the...
Now that I lowered my car, they can't even get my Z on the rack.
Thanks for the lifetime alignment?
I try to avoid potholes, speed bumps and other road hazards but that doesn't seem to help.
