I used barbeque paint on my rotors looks much better than beforeAttachment 331992after Attachment 331993 try it if you have stock rotors just spray over rust
I just painted the unswept area on the rears...that's where you have a LARGE rust area on replacements. I used Krylon BBQ and Stove paint (1200*F) and it worked great.
Here is what the replacements look like on the rear:

I do this to my rotor hats every year to freshen things up. Sand, spray, dry, drive. You can spray the entire rotor and the brake pads will remove the paint where it's not supposed to be... just drive slow and your fine. Afterwards just wash your wheels as the brakes will produce a paint dust that you don't want sitting on your wheels. I have done this to every car I have ever driven and I've had no issues... ever. i can't stand rusty rotor hats.
I have also used Duplicolor high temp flat black for many years for this and it always results in a "new from the factory" look.

Sheesh...I powder coat nearly everything on my car. These are the 350Z calipers that I bought to go on my SER....before and after pics.
What arrived that I bought.....
What they look like now...
What I am working on for the fronts
Before.....
After media blasting/cleaning....
Intermediate stage on top, untouched opposite caliper on the bottom...
