the price of powder coating is expensive even for small things. hope it last a while
Not always but I wouldn't recommend powder so much as I would high temp paint.. also there's no issues behind painting the rotors.. the pads will remove any over spray from the rotors themselves.. we've actually sand blasted rust off and painted a few sets already.. looks much better than a conventional zinc coating
This is not always true. I powder coat items for members of several forums I am a member of. I guess its who you know. Some shops can be expensive, but its still worth it as far as durability. Most of the cost with powder coating is prepping/CLEANING the part to be coated. I remove ALL rust/paint/oil/grime/etc. down to bare metal, clean with acetone, then pre heat part to out gas any contaminants, clean the newly surfaced out gassed contaminates, and finally coat the part. If you are worried about cost, simply have more small items coated the same color at the same time. Cost waaay less that way because your not changing powders and risking cross contamination, and the time to coat multiple items isnt much more than 1 item.

^ +1 we do our own powder coating and prep is definitely the most time consuming part.. spraying is fairly simple so long as only a single color is involved
