How does someone deserve a car when it is just handed to him and not earned through hard work? No one deserves a 30k car just because its their b-day.

Also my dad gives me the privlage of driving his cars and i respect that. Just because u got ur car at a different time in ur life doesnt make u deserve it any more than i do.
ok... no mid-life crisis for u in the future...
Lol kid just dug himself a bigger hole. Oh and for christ's sake instead of getting a Z for your birthday's have your parents get some of you grammar lessons your replies are painful to read. I also second the comment about how can you deserve something you didn't pay fro through hard work. I still feel the logic that hitting 16 is an accomplishment as idiotic.
DONT do it, im turning 21 now and I just got my z in 2004, a really good first car if you want quick and fun to drive is a subaru wrx, sti, or evo, those are good first cars but dont get the Z give it a couple of years, the car is very back happy and ive seen too many friends total them, "SAVE A Z, DRIVE A SUBARU" lol thats what I say.
Once again i will repeat to u the fact that my dad lets me drive his cars. I have no car that is my own and no i didnt get ne thing but their trust on my 16th birthday. I have been riding motocross for 5 years so a streetbike is the same deal. I would also like to know when the last time was anyone of you saw a track bike on the street. My grammer might not be the best, but some of you make no sense and have no room to comment against me. Im not on this forum to make enemies. One of my friends started with an evo didnt like that so he got a supra build it to 760 HP until the turbo seals went then he sold that for an sti and traded that for another supra which is at 400 hp and he is 17. The reason i dont have a car is i am saving for a supra which will own most of u here.(I do work for my cars, im just saving for the car i want and driving my dads Z because i love all things Z.I dont see why you all have to talk bad about me because i have the same intrest in cars as you do and i really enjoy drive my dads Z. Ya i didnt work and pay for it. Thats why it isnt my car. So for all of you who have wifes that drive your Zs u better make em earn it in the sack. Or they dont deserve it.

You may have the same desrie and all that bs.... but you just do not understand what the people on here are talking about. It's not to do you "bad" but it's to help you. The fact is that you will just not "get it" untill you grow up. And when you do i guarantee that you will give the same advice to 16 year olds like yourself who think they can handle a "750hp" car. (this is funny to me btw)
I am 19 now and drive a bmw z3 which is rwd and trust it's enough fun, and I am even not sure that a z is the car for me even though i have some expierance with rwd car. I my self got out of control a few times thinking that i could do it. And so now i know my limits. Z is no car for you period.

Agree . Its just another child saying this is bragging what they am going to supposedly own. Also at your age I would love to know where you work to earn enough money to by a 30k+ Supra and then pay for insurance, upkeep, gas, etc on it. Also do you take into account that you will be pretty much dumping every penny you own into a car? What about saving for a house, other bills, savings, spending money, etc?

Im not out to brag but i work everyday after school as a shop tech for an industrial pump company. Im paid a salary and make enough a year to cover a $30K car in a year but my money also goes to my girlfriend and im saving up for a better supra then i can pick up for 30 grand that is stock with low miles so its not some 750 hp car. Im doing all the work myself as a project car for me and my dad. Which i am paying for. I dont need to hear that i cant handle it from some guy i never meet. Plus i have probely had more track days and can feel out the Z better than most. Stop trying to make me look bad just because im young. Im a member of The Autobahn track in Joliet IL and my birthday present wasnt a car it was performance driving lessons for the car. Im not just sayin ill own you u i could probely feel out the Z better than most of u who drive mostly on the street. those who drive on the track often not just including myself definiatly have the most control of our Z cars in ne situation. Just cause im young doesnt mean im reakless. I tear up my dirt bike not my car or bike.

Not a smart idea at all - i can see u a) wrecking it b) losing ur license to speed contest c) loosing ur license to too many speeding tickets. At 17 very few people are mature enough to own a sports car - Christ u dont even have your drivers license! Step into a sedan or some regular kinda car before getting into a sports car. Also get a car YOU urself can afford; not your parents. So get a job that will be netting you enough cash after taxes to make the carpayment and insurance on a 17 year old newbie driver. If you can accomplish that then go for it - otherwise you will simply have no idea nor appreciation of owning a car but you'll be good at milking your parents.
So much hostility on this thread.
I've never paid for a car; gifts from 16 on. 6 years: no car payments, insurance, gas, etc. It is driving me up the wall that everyone here flames the hell out of people who "don't deserve it." Who are you to judge anyone based on what they have? Everyone who seems to "deserve it" makes it sound like making money and paying your own way is the only way to deserve anything. There will ALWAYS be people more fortunate/richer than you, but apparently that gives you the right to trash on them. I'm a 22 year old corporate accountant, college educated and all, and I still don't pay for anything. But I suppose that makes me a POS right? You know almost nothing about me, but I'm probably going to be dubbed just some punk momma's boy that's doesn't know how to appreciate anything. To some people, Money means NOTHING.
Back to the OP. Don't put your family through any unnecessary hardship for a car. There are so many other important things. Really try viewing the pro's and con's from an outside perspective, covering all your bases. A Z is nice, but there are plenty of other cars that are more much practical.
Let the Flaming Begin!

I was thinking about other cars today and it might be cool to get a Z32 for your first car. I always wanted one and they are pretty reasonable. Twin turbo and doesnt take much to make them fast. If you are willing to get a older car those are definatly really nice fun cars. I drove a slightly moded one and it was equally fun to drive as the Z33.
One of my friends got a supra as his second car and after an sti he is on his second supra (not cause he crashed), what most people have said as long as you respect the cars performance. I think you will be fine with whatever you get just use your head.
just go ahead man.. i'm 17 now.i got the 05 touring stick. my parents got a good deal on year end discount, free navi. i have about 1 yr experience with my 00 celica gt which has lots of problems due to my hard driving. z has great balance between handling and power, don't worry about being 2 fast.. it's not that fast afer all for me now, no disrespect.also i'm now thinkin about my next car gonna be more expensive then my car now because, i'm gonna have to buy it on my own.
